She keeps her head down, walks fast, takes loops around dark alleys and looks at no one. Everything is so silent, a stark contrast to the city of a few months ago, alive, bright and full of people. She rounds the corner, pulling the edges of her jacket in toward her body, and, suddenly, the whole street is illuminated in red, bathing the houses and the ambulance in eerie crimson light. The EMTs are loading a man onto a stretcher, his skin alternately white and red. She wonders why they even bother anymore. The world is ending and you can't save everyone. You can't save anyone.

Ugh, it's pretty bad when you have stories centered around the apocalypse in:
  • your LJ
  • your saved entries on LJ
  • your saved entries on Word
  • your Google Docs
  • your spiffy new notebook that you just bought this afternoon
Someone shoot me. They're not even good, and definitely not what I should be writing. *headdesk*

I have an apocalypse playlist on iTunes. Oh my God, I'm obsessed. (It's kind of amazing though.)

story, apocalypse!fic, ish, weirdness
