OH MY GOD, WEIRD COINCIDENCE MYSTERY-SOLVING CHANNEL-SURFING.
So, backstory: about ten years ago, my dance teacher gave me a set of swords to play with. They hooked together, and you could spin them around in cool ways, like poi-spinning. I loved them and they were really impressive to the audience. But then I left and didn't take the swords and I have NEVER seen them since. Not once. Google gave me nothing, neither did trolling dance and martial arts forums. I gave up years ago, regretting that I didn't take them when my dance teacher offered.
Today I'm channelsurfing while eating dinner. I come upon America's Got Talent. In the two seconds before I change the channel, what do I see but THE SWORDS! In the hands of a woman with a thick-as-molasses Texan accent, wearing a cowboy hat and a fringed sparkly jacket. She dropped them about eight times in the pre-performance and confessed she was totally blind in her left eye. But then she did a great job and moved on to the next round, go her! But I was just like OMG THE SWORDS!
Apparently they are called Samoan knives. And you can set them on fire.
