Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny
Saturday night was a bad movie bonanza! We watched the excellently awful Mega-Shark vs. Giant Octopus, and it was everything that we thought it could be. Beach Spies! Barn Dance on Gay St.! Handsome Asian Scientist to the rescue! Captain Douchebag vs Irish ex-Navy paleontologist! Showdown aboard the Daedalus a submarine! With a surprisingly sweet relationship between Useless Oceanographer and Handsome Asian Scientist. They deserved a better movie.
I was also introduced to the wonders of Calamari Wrestler, which we are renting from Netflix ASAP. This has spawned a new meme in my group of friends -- our new fight song is the Calamari Wrestler theme song, "Ika ika ika ika, ika resura~!" (Ika = squid, btw. Classic lyrics!)
