Assignment: Uesugi
Appearance:
Ohai, lovely. And because it's important... have a description too:
Aside from the obvious parts, such as the unusual color of his eyes, hair and violet lotus markings on his forehead, stated above, he seems to be a pretty male and from 18-20 at first glance. Accurate observations, but wrong, since he has no gender at all. He has no reproductive organs whatsoever, because they're not needed for a clone like himself. He's not meant to reproduce, so they're unimportant. What does this mean? He has no nipples, or penis- or even gluteal cleft (aka the ass hole). He is perfectly unmarked, and quite like a doll in this case.
Additional information also includes a blend of male and female features in his body, such as his broad shoulders, height (standing at 6 feet holy shit), slim waist and somewhat prominent backside. Combined with his face and manner of clothing, he is the perfect androgynous being.
Also, when in certain special fluids such as the liquid found in his life-support tank,
red markings consisting of lines and numbers will appear throughout his body, especially on his face, back and abdominal area where the bellybutton is supposed to be located. Keyword being "supposed", as he has none.
History:
Nataku is formerly Kazuki, a young girl loved by her family, most especially by her father. This love was so great that, when she died early, he worked to bring her back, even using his own body as a vessel for the unruined tissues of Kazuki's body- and even a small part of her consciousness. Then comes the being Nataku, raised in a laboratory, and taught by Kazuki's grandfather about the Dragons of Heaven and Dragons of Earth, and the impending battle to decide the fate of the world.
Why? Because Kazuki had been destined to be one of the Seven Angels- a Dragon of Earth- and Nataku, being the second Kazuki, had inherited not only all of her memories as a young child, but also her innate powers, and her destiny.
His very first task is to take the Shinken, or holy sword, from a temple. Nataku has no problem with this mission, accomplishing it easily, and killing the priest, so that there would be no witnesses to the crime- just as planned. He takes the Shinken back to his grandfather, who keeps it hidden until he managed to find a way to destroy it and keep Nataku away from what is in his near future.
Not long after this, the Shinken begins to react- this signifies Kamui's awakening, and Nataku knows what it means right away. He leaves his grandfather's building carrying the sword, while the building begins to collapse due to an "earthquake" made by "Kamui's" powers. He presents the Shinken to Monou Fuuma, now the "Kamui" of the Angels, and the one in whom he sees Kazuki's father. "Kamui" asks for his name- his real name- and he gives "Kazuki". Ever since then, he had been called Kazuki when they are both alone, and he becomes utterly devoted to the leader of the Dragons of Earth, calling him "Papa" in his mind.
Nataku is sent to destroy a Shinkansen station when he first meets the woman he eventually regards as his mother. She intervenes, and they fight. Karen manages to defeat Nataku, and the whole experience had been imprinted on him. She had not acted like other people to him- instead, she had tried to understand him in almost the same way "Kamui" did.
The next time he and Karen come across each other, they fight for the last time, before Nataku himself stops the battle, and goes against "Kamui" to protect Karen. He dies in the end, but he dies as he wished, at the hands of the person he loved the most, protecting the one most important to him- "Kamui", his father, killed him as he was protecting Karen, his mother.
He has been drawn to the Crucible, though, just before "Kamui's" hand pierces his chest cavity. His first friend is Abel Nightroad, followed by Lily (Rammensteiner), Amaterasu, and has strange acquaintances in the form of Roxas, the Tenth Doctor, and Oliver Day. He also meets Monou Fuuma, or "Kamui". But this one is a Dragon of Heaven, and thus from an alternate world. He vehemently rejects Nataku during their first meeting, and never speaks to him again, leaving Nataku confused, and thinking.
Even though he comes in very late in the timeline (the third and second to last cycle), and he still manages to make himself prominent by working hard, lending his power to those who need it. However, there is one drawback to this- he's not motivated by an innate desire for cooperation, but the want to return home and save Karen. He's been told that time stops when he is gone, and that when he returns, he will be back to where he has left off thanks to some of the experiences of others, but he still desires to return home as soon as possible.
They do get a chance to return home after everything is said and done, and Nataku decides to tell everyone the truth before he goes home. Everything from him being the little girl named Kazuki that has been wandering around the ship days prior to what he has been doing in his world. It's a ploy to keep them angry at him, because in his mind, it would be better for them not to get attached to him, as he knows he will die soon, and being attached to him will likely be pointless because of that fact.
He's the first one off the ship, once Orion makes his announcement. He dies immediately after that.
Personality:
For some people, Nataku is a heartless monster, killing without any hesitation whatsoever- or even showing emotion. This view is further elaborated with the fact that he tends to speak with a deadpan tone, and comes off as somewhat offensive because of it. People get angry at him, and he merely tilts his head and blinks at them without saying a word.
But those who have managed to get to know him well- Fuuma and Karen- see past that and know that Nataku is still a child, still curious, still learning. He's still a blank slate, and he doesn't know as much as someone of his physical age should, or would, know. He's not even aware that he has emotions, as he regards himself as something that is not human at all, having no family, no friends- not even being born like a normal human. Karen had described him as having "sad eyes" once, indicating that he's lonely, and knows that he's misunderstood, and somehow does not like this view of himself.
After all, his mind- and "soul"- is that of a little girl named Kazuki. He may be a killer, but he doesn't understand why it is wrong to kill, or why he's being told to kill. He's merely being obedient. He's also somewhat clingy to those he interacts with on a regular basis. He may not understand the emotions that come with interacting with them, but he knows he's always drawn to them. In his mind, Fuuma, or "Kamui", resembles Kazuki's father, and thus regards "Kamui" as his own father. Kasumi Karen, the Dragon of Heaven who controls fire, is so accepting of him, the enemy, that he regards her as his own mother. And like any child, to him, his parents are like his gods.
In the Crucible though, he begins to grow what we call a spine. He learns how to become human, and detaches himself from Kazuki. Thanks to the rejection of Monou Fuuma (an alternate of the one he knows), and a certain nightmare event, he's also beginning to sever the connections between himself and the "Kamui" of his world, making him learn how to be independent. Of course, he's not totally going against "Kamui", as deep in his heart he still loves the person who granted his wish. He's just learned not to allow his world to revolve around him.
He begins to put more basis on his memories as Kazuki, putting aside some of his experiences as a Dragon of Earth (since people do get upset at the mention of killing all human life just to change the world) and begin to see life in a wholly different manner. Even though me may not understand it himself, he begins to empathize with others, and, due to his naturally good heart, he yearns to 'fix' things as much as he can. He has a true ability of making choices now, instead of waiting for a 'suggestion' from someone to tell him what to do.
Strengths:
Like any other Dragon of Earth- or main character in X for that matter- Nataku has an extremely strong psychic ability to manipulate those things around him at will (not that he's used his psychic powers too much, preferring to attack physically), and gather his energy into a ball to throw at his enemies. He can breach any kekkai made by the Dragons of Heaven, but, being a Dragon of Earth, he cant get out. Which isn't that much of a problem for him, as he can easily out-battle even the best of them.
His body had been enhanced not to have the same faults as humans after all- that means no sicknesses, no exhaustion, no fatigue, all power, speed and agility. He also bears that trademark killing method each of the Angels have, punching a hole through the chest cavity of the victim. His main weapon is the sash he carries around him at all times. He's very skilled in using it, and very rarely is he seen without it.
He also does not need to eat, or even get sick like normal humans do, which means he's immune to anything that is deadly to a human's health. As another plus, he has a smart mind, and is able to absorb anything with a perfect memory and such. If he were to be taught in any subject at all, he would excel easily.
Weaknesses:
While his detachment and ignorance of the human side of himself can be a strength of his (no worries, no problems), it is also a double-edged sword, and serves more to hurt him than to help him. If left unchecked by an outside force, his emotions can overwhelm him, and even eat him up- he's more sensitive than the average human that way. Examples of this are the reactions he has to the name "Kazuki". One minute he seems pleased, another he seems conflicted. In reality, he still has some of Kazuki's memories, and they are simply confusing him and making him question what he is doing.
Also, as a blank slate, it's fairly easy for someone to feed him information, most especially the wrong ones. He's a curious little child, and very impressionable. He will take anything and everything given to him without discrimination, and this can get dangerous if no one makes sure he's learning properly. Watching him is very much watching a child in that respect.
He's not also immortal or a perfect being-- he can still bleed like anyone else, and die, just like what's happened to him. Take out his heart, and he's gone. Take off his head, and he's gone.
