So, been in Vancouver for half a week or whatever now. Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I'm here for a whole year and not just on holiday. The weather's been lovely, though it's overcast today, and thus far I'm having a great time. We've been to see a plethora of local bands play - there's a music festival called Music Waste on at the moment, $15 for a 6-day pass or whatever, and it's hosted at a whole heap of different venues. And next Monday is Cut Off Your Hands!! Going to see a Kiwi band will be way fun, I'm really looking forward to it. Their live show is purported to be excellent, also.
It's interesting adjusting to the different lifestyle here, too. I'm not really 100% sure exactly what is different (mostly because I've never really been that observant, I suppose) but I'm definitely not in Kansas NZ any more. But it's not a bad change. Public transportation that's actually reliable is sort of a novelty!
I do miss home, and everyone there, but that's only natural. Besides, no matter where I am I'm going to miss people, right? It's not interfering with my fun, so I can deal.
Job hunting...yeah, I should do that. I think it'll be tough to find a job with as much flexibility as I sort-of need to actually see Canada + the States, but I'll see how I go. Worst comes to worst, I'll just write a bestseller or something.
Oh yeah- the screen on my camera is broken! Ultimate sadness ;_; I'm going to see if I can get it fixed, and in the meantime I MIGHT be able to still take photos, just...not see how they look before I get them on the computer. We'll see. Either way, any fun photos and videos I'll upload here for ya'll to peruse at your leisure. ♥
