IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN~
MY FAVOURITE ONE.
BECAUSE TV IS BACK~
i don't usually have to draw up a schedule to remind myself of what shows come out when, i'm generally pretty good at doing that on my own (lol, my priorities, let me show you them) but there is so much new tv to catch this season, and i ended up giving pretty much every show a chance, so i'm a little bit in over my head. WHICH IS A GLORIOUS, GLORIOUS FEELING. i love having so much tv to watch that finishing it is practically impossible.
ANYWAY. on last count, i'm watching something like ~30 shows, and about half of them are new. monday nights are the most fun, because there's 2 broke girls (which i am enjoying, but only every other week because the writing is kind of uneven), and hart of dixie (which idk how i feel about yet, but it's rachel bilson and jamie king so it's 50/50 that it'll end up being worth it). then there's the playboy club (and i'm kiiiiiiiiind of iffy about, still, but the second ep was so much better than the pilot - which i fell asleep halfway through - so i am keeping my fingers crossed), and my (current) favouritest new show of the monday lot, terra nova (IT'S SCI-FI AND I HATE SCI-FI BUT THE FIRST EPISODE WAS JUST SO. BRILL. and beautiful. and the lead is hot and irish, and i just--yeah. i'd hit that.)
rounding it off, h50 is still doing it for me, and i think himym is setting us up for a fun season, and SARA B ON THE SING-OFF A++++++ FOREVER. the only thing i might drop is gossip girl, because--wow. what am i even doing still watching that?
for all the awesome monday brings to my life, the tuesday line-up is surprisingly disappointing. ringer could have been great, but it really isn't thanks to faily cgi effects and an even failier choice of leading actress (i'm not anti-smg, but she is pm one of the flattest actresses ever who's never been called on it), and new girl is the MOST ANNOYING 20 MINUTES OF TELEVISION ON AIR RIGHT NOW. i can't even. i will admit i'm not, have never, and will never be a big zooey fan, but all the rave reviews she's getting for basically playing herself is annoying as fuck. also ridiculous. ALSO ANNOYING. have i made my feelings clear yet? last week's episode i was rooting for the deadbeat boyfriend to drop a tv on HER. (although--tbh i have extremely strong feelings about my tv.) glee has been lackluster (surprise, surprise) since lauren's departure, but i am holding out for the new actors (DAMIAAAAAAAAAAN~) so we'll see how that goes. raising hope isn't living up to the awesomeness of its first season, either, so. :/
wednesdays! wednesday is comedy night or something, because i'm watching up all night (meh), free agents (less meh), and suburgatory (....meh?) but all are in danger of being dropped if they don't excite me a little more in the coming weeks. it's dangerous when i look forward to watching tyra banks and her crazy models versus scripted tv. the night's one saving grace is revenge, though! i didn't think i'd be as big a fan of emily vancamp as i've turned out to be, but the show is fast-paced and fun (and easy on the eyes!) and if they'd just let jack go, it would be pretty much perfect.
thursdays probably have my favourite line-up, and only partly because i have fridays off to watch everything that needs watching. prime suspect is my favourite favourite FAVOURITE new show, probably overall - which is another strange choice because i'm not a big cop show girl, either - but mario bello is so kickass, and the dialogue is so smart and sharp and it feels real (not that i'm an authority). i am in love with it. i hope everyone watches it so it doesn't get cancelled. then there's whitney, which i am probably alone in loving, haha, but it's just SO. ADORABLE. i can't even. it might start to grate on the nerves soon, though, we'll see. finally, the secret circle! awesomely trashy but not overly so, with really pretty boys and girls to look at. faye makes me want to choke her sometimes, but i think the show's doing pretty good at keeping her halfway-redeemable. of course there's also grey's and pp and tvd and project runway and community to keep me occupied the rest of the night, and i think the only show that's in jeopardy of being dropped is pp because--i'm just bored of it, tbqh, and the season premiere didn't make me feel any differently.
friday night! supernatural to the rescue. i gave a gifted man a shot - a ten minute shot, to be exact - but it made me want to spork myself in the face, so. no. i'm looking forward to grimm, but from the previews i've seen and the reviews i've read, it's probably not going to be as good as everyone is making it out to be, which will be disappointing. OH AND YOUNG JUSTICE, BEST NEW CARTOON ON THE BLOCK CAN I JUST SAY. jesse mccartney voicing robin might be making me biased, but still.
saturday is tv-free day, surprise, because merlin has been on a downward plunge since mid season 2, and i'm sick of hearing the same stupid story EVERY WEEK FOR FOUR YEARS. jfc, bbc writers. i expected so much more.
SUNDAY! sunday is fun day. sunday is desperate housewives (flawless except for susan delfino, who needs to be shot in the face) and pan am (i am still kind of on the fence about, but it might grow on me) and hopefully once upon a time, once it's started (which--how exciting is it that there are going to be TWO fairytale-based tv shows this season anyway?) and hopefully leverage and breakout kings will be coming back soon, so that will make it even funner!
