i had the loveliest night out tonight! :D
i went to see family outing with
captureinsanity and it was hands down one of my favouritest plays i have ever been to see. which is not saying much, but still. who knew that a 20-odd-year-old playwright would be the driving force behind one of the most promising pieces of theatre i've seen pretty much ever? pms probably had a role in this, but i spent the entire hour basically trying not to weep all over myself, and--
i just felt like he got me. idk if it's an age thing (it's probably at least partly an age thing), or if he's just that good, but i laughed and i cried and i clutched my chest and aww'ed and gleefaced and got goosebumps all in turn, sometimes even simultaneously. never mind the fact that the narrator was essentially a ghost. it felt like i was watching a family i knew, and loved, and--i didn't know theatre could be like that!
so. that was a lovely experience.
on top of that, i got to hang at baybeats with
captureinsanity for a little bit (where we met
tynislove), which turned into hanging at thomson, which turned into talking about how we should set up a late night dessert/fried food/beer place, because we are clearly lacking that right now.
fast forward to me getting home and basically flailing at
bloodbelieve for an hour while we simulwatch our boyfriends being ridiculous and adorable and delightful at their spin interview, and you pretty much have the perfect ending to the perfect night. :D
