the best episode of supernatural, ever. gah, i was just thinking that things were going too well, and i need to be reminded that dean's been in hell, because hello? HE HAS! things should be changing some! AND THEN THIS WEEK THEY ALLUDED TO IT AND IT WAS AWESOME AND STILL FUNNY AS HELL. probably the most gratifying single episode i've seen of spn all season. yay! (also! seeing justin from aliens in america in greek! ah, bb, i have missed you!)
so then, what makes an already great weekend awesome?
GOING TO SEE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 ON OPENING NIGHT.
starafar sums it all up very succinctly here, but me? i am not, have never been, and will never be, succinct, because i am FULL OF SQUEE (and yes there will be PLENTY OF CAPSLOCK IN THIS POST BECAUSE HI, I CAN HAZ INTERNETZ. (and i missed capslock day, boo!) and HSM IS JUST THAT AWESOME, YOU GUYS, OKAY?
BECAUSE HOMG, THOSE ARMS. THOSE ARMS. like, okay, i don't even have a thing for arms, usually - that seems to be bri's area of specialty *cough* - BUT OMG. OMG. THAT IS ALL. they kept doing things like MAKING HIM TAKE OFF HIS SHIRT, WHICH, HI, i guess i should have expected that seeing as THE OPENING SHOT WAS A CLOSE UP OF HIS SWEATY FACE IN A BASKETBALL JERSEY. BUT AHHHH! *FLAILS* and he is so STRONG. that silly little waltz with gabriella on the roof? AND ALL THOSE LIKE CRAZY LIFTS AND SDLGUJWESORIFWEKGFLWE. EFFORTLESS. AND THEN IT RAINED. AFJHSOIEWF. pat said, "is it the stormy season?" after, and i think i about died laughing. but am i complaining? I THINK NOT. because! OMG! RAIN! ZEFRON IN THE RAIN. *ded*
AND THEN RYAN. OH MY GOSH HOW AWESOME WAS RYAN IN THIS MOVIE!? him and kelsie were ADORABLE - although, yes, okay, she should never be given a solo again - AND THEN ROCKETMAN. oh my gosh, he cracked me up SO HARD, HA. i think i was squirming in my seat, i was laughing SO HARD. favourite hsm newcomer, hands down. sadly, there is not enough magnetism in any of them to draw me back for a fourth movie, BUT. BUT! AHHHHH, HOW FANTASTIC WAS THIS ONE?
troy! HEARING FROM JULLIARD. HA HA HA HA HA. second most hilarious moment of the night. zefron is SO OVER THE TOP, oh my gosh, BUT THAT JUST MEANS HE IS GOING TO BE KICKASS IN FOOTLOOSE! which i am already excited about, because hi! HIP-THRUSTS. CHEESY DISCO DANCES. (all of which are replicated with much aplomb in this movie! \o/) AND THEN PAT TOLD ME THE MOVIE WAS FILMED IN UTAH, WHICH, LIKE, HI! FANDOM CROSSOVER, MUCH? oh my gosh, how perfect would it have been if they'd gotten archie to step in to do like, ONE NUMBER, like, i don't even care, for their prom or whatever?
and the music was SO not the best, i don't care what they say on the documentary - heh, pat and i went out, like, RIGHT AFTER THE MOVIE, and bought ourselves copies of the soundtrack (DON'T JUDGE, OKAY. ZEFRON SINGS LIKE 79845247 SONGS) - but it was fun and boppy anyway! i stand by the fact that i will never remember any songs as quickly as i did the ones from the original tv movie, though.
BUT OH, OH, THE DRAMA TEACHER!!!! i still don't know her name, even after ALL THREE MOVIES (TRILOGIES FTW), BUT OMG I ♥ HER SO MUCH. she deserves some kind of prize for her, uh, awesomeness. or something. and also this is kind of embarrassing but i was all kinds of choked up when troy was giving that final graduation speech. *sniffles* if this had come out, like, half a year earlier? i would've been bawling. and terrified of going for my own graduation, so it's probably worked out for the best.
but THEN, MAUDLIN FEELINGS ASIDE! THEN THERE WAS THE BEST PART OF THE MOVIE, OH MY GOSH. THE BROMANCE!!!!!!!!! okay, i love me my zanessa BUT TROY/CHAD FTMFW!!!!!!!!11111 BECAUSE, HI, THE BOYS ARE BACK? SO SO AWESOME. for one thing, IT WAS TOTALLY A THROWBACK TO N'SYNC'S GIRLFRIEND VIDEO, OKAY? (although, fine, i suppose they were gunning for something more like mj's thriller) and! THAT BACK TO THE FUTURE REFERENCE WAS THE CUTEST THING EVER. and omg, NINJAS! SPIES! DAMSELS IN DISTRESS AND WALKING ON BIG ASS TYRES AND CRAPPY BREAKDANCING! AHHHHHHHHHH, ZEFRON, BB. TAKE ME NAO. how adorable was it when those two kids bust out and HI, MINI!CHAD STILL HAD HIS BIG HAIR. LOVE. SO MUCH LOVE.
and THEN, as if the girlfriend thing hadn't already SLAYED ME, zefron gets a solo scene which is like SOMETHING RIGHT OUT OF BYE BYE BYE, WITH THE ROTATING ROOM AND THE SLIP-SLIDING ALL OVER THE PLACE. OH MY GOSH BOYBAND!FAN CHOREOGRAPHER, YES x10000000000!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111

and yes, okay, it was totally over the top, but it's hsm. if you're expecting anything remotely intellectual, you really shouldn't even BE in that theatre! but if you miss the good ol' days - doesn't matter how young you are - and if you miss feeling like everything's going to be okay, like there is SO MUCH GOOD in life and SO MUCH worth living for, then you totally need to see this, stat. i thought mamma mia! was happy-inducing? THIS IS x92394723094832940823 TIMES MORE SO, OH MY GOSH. what a feel-good movie, in the best possible way!
