i suck. i am a majorly sucky fangirl who remembers her boybanders' birthdays right up to the day they're actually on, and then i completely forget.
i'm sorry, justin.so, to make up for it, i am doing something that i have not done in forever due to sucky response: i am offering ficlets! to... any number of people who ask for them. i probably won't

Q: Sorry I had to cut our interview short the other day.
JUSTIN: It's okay. Just, Howie, don't, let's talk about this.
Q: I just have a couple of questions from the last time, if you can spare me a minute.
JUSTIN: I. (PAUSE) Yeah, sure. Go ahead.
Q: Okay. Has the coach put too much pressure on you when it comes to handling the team?
JUSTIN: I don't-I don't know. It's not, I haven't really thought about anything else since-
Q: I'm going to take that as a no, then. On the other hand, does that play a part in how hard you push the team? And the results you get out of that?
JUSTIN: I guess, sure. Come on, Howie, just-
Q: That's great. So what-
JUSTIN: Howie. Just-just stop, okay? Stop. (LONG PAUSE) So that's it? You're just - you're going to ignore me outside of this office, and expect me to-to, what, to pretend that none of this is happening?
Q: Justin, I-I don't. (PAUSE) What are your thoughts on the way the team performed today?
JUSTIN: (LONG PAUSE) I guess I-I thought things were going to work out differently.
Q:
And then Howie comes back in the room, still scowling, and Joey hastily backs away from the laptop. He's pretty sure he's not supposed to be looking at this.
"You okay?" Joey asks, as Howie collapses into his chair.
"Peachy," Howie snaps. He's about to turn back to his computer when the door to the office swings open again, and both of them look up, startled and confused. Howie speaks first. "Justin?"
Justin doesn't reply, and Joey watches as he marches right into the room, face set in determination. Howie's chair scrapes sharply back against the floor as he reels back, panic clear in his voice when he says, Wait, what - Justin, what're you--"
He doesn't even have time to finish before Justin's hands are curled in his shirt, practically lifting him off the seat and backing him up against a wall. "Wait," Howie repeats, fainter this time, and even Joey can see the way his gaze has flickered down to Justin's mouth. "Justin." It's not doing much in the way of a convincing protest.
Justin's kissing him before he can get another word out. It's fair, Joey thinks. Makes up for all the times Howie interrupted him before. It doesn't occur to him to stop watching. Justin's hands are huge, one curled around Howie's wrist, the other gentle on Howie's cheek. Howie's eyes have already fluttered shut. It doesn't look like either of them intend to pull away.
There's a soft, wet pop, and Joey thinks tongue, then oh. He should be embarrassed, would be if he was anyone else, but he isn't. Justin tilts his head for as better angle, and Howie makes a quiet, breathless noise that makes Joey's stomach do a little flip.
They break apart a small eternity later, and Joey can just see Howie's dazed expression over the top of Justin's head.
"Justin," Howie repeats, his face flushed, his mouth shiny and bruised even from where Joey's standing. His palms are pressed flat against Justin's chest, but it doesn't look like he's pushing. "You can't -Joey's--"
"Just leaving," Joey interjects, as common sense kicks back in. Justin doesn't even turn around. Joey grabs his backpack off his chair and turns to the door. "I didn't see a thing. Don't worry about it."
"But this - this is going too fast," Howie adds, weakly.
Joey doesn't even have to look back to know that Justin's smirking. The last thing he hears as he backs out of the doorway is Justin's ragged laughter, and then, "I've been dating you for practically a month and you've already met my family. Just shut up so I can kiss you again."

Oh my God, if THIS is what happens when you can't make it online, you're welcome to let that happen more often. (Except don't!) Um, I don't even know where to start. It's from JOEY'S pov, and he's so chill and laid-back about the whole thing, and omg, when he watches the kiss I was so FULL OF LOVE for him for being like, "huh, okay. oh, tongue. well then." THAT WAS FANTASTIC. God, he is too cool for school.
AND THE TRANSCRIPTS. I loved that method so much. There was so much DIFFERENCE in all three of them, the first two so friendly and getting-to-know-each-other kind of a thing (and oh my god, I learned more about Justin from this than ever before, he so just wants to do well <3333) and then that snippet of honest conversation, with the mention of NICK OMG, and the final interview that's so perfunctury and hesitant. God, I love the way you tell this story. It's so effective the way that I'm left to imagine all the actions on my own.
AND THAT KISS WAS SCORCHING HOT, BY THE WAY. Nnngh, Justin knows exactly what Howie likes, doesn't he? And that last line, that last line is BRILLIANT. God, you're so good it hurts me a little. HOW is one person as awesome as you? Thank you SO much for this, this is going straight into my del.icio.us. BRILLIANT. ♥ ♥ ♥
