Character's Sex: Male
Character's Age: 17, nearing 18

Abilities: Soma has been taught and trained in Kalarippayattu and Silambam. While he is skilled at fighting with his hands and a staff or heavier sword, he is very weak at using a weapon like a fencing foil. It has also been shown he has some basic medical knowledge.
Background:
Wiki link. It should be noted that I only follow manga cannon, as it differs from the anime plot greatly.
Appearance:

Personality: To put it bluntly, when Soma is first introduced he is a spoiled brat. He has a loud and exuberant nature, which is only amplified by his arrogance.
In many ways, Soma is a genuinely nice guy, if not incredibly naïve. Having never experienced true misfortune, he has a tendency to exaggerate his own problems, making a theatrical and angst-ridden scene out of them. One example would be when he believed Agni had abandoned him. At first, instead of being grateful, he saw himself as a victim and tried forcing his sadness on Ciel and Sebastian, expecting pity. He was shocked when he received none, but instead was verbally reprimanded. Soma also believed his past was sadder and worse than it really was. While it’s true that he probably felt lonely from time to time, and he does hate being alone, Soma is actually quite happy and one of the most easygoing characters in the cast.
Which brings up another point: Soma despises being alone. He craves affection and friendship, though he tends to be oblivious about recognizing it at times. This clueless nature could be partially due to the fact that until meeting Agni (which probably wasn’t that long before he was actually introduced), he never had any real friends growing up in the palace. The only people who played with him were servants who were simply indulging him because they would be fired, or worse, if they refused. Soma will do some outrageous things just to get some attention, whether it’s weaving stories out of his past because he expects sympathy or loudly demanding his friends to play a game with him when they’re in the middle of a lesson.
Soma is incredibly childish. He has some of the hormonal tendencies common for his age, but has a blunt, tactless, almost innocent way of stating his demands. He can be very rude at times, and sees the world through rose colored glasses. When Ciel first tells him of his past and history, Soma has a hard time understanding, which only further proves his naivety.
However, even with all his flaws and thick-headedness, once he learns to look past himself Soma is able to recognize true friendship and he becomes fiercely protective of those friends, cherishing them above all else. Agni and Ciel fit into this category, and even though Agni is the one more protective of Soma they share a sort of mutual understanding they lacked in the past. Soma knows Ciel is more mature than him in many ways, yet when Ciel is in danger Soma is quick to change temperaments and for once becomes calm, capable, and surprisingly responsible. It is during these rare moments when his royal upbringing seems more evident. An example in the manga would be when Ciel’s asthma was acting up. He ended up being the one to eagerly take up the “nursing Ciel back to health” role, and knew what to tell everyone to do. Sure he collapsed at some point during the night while watching over him, but. He even admonished Sebastian later, claiming the butler wasn’t nice enough and should have been fawning over Ciel. Soma is bossy at times, a nosy busybody, and his nurturing nature isn’t always welcomed, but his intentions are good.
Yet, his loud nature isn’t always a bad thing, because he is pretty quick and outgoing in trying to make friends. He once affectionately declared Elizabeth as his “little sister”, simply because of her relationship to Ciel. Soma is stubborn, whether it’s demanding the attention from others or deciding he’s going to become a great man. He’s also shown to be reckless at times, charging in without thought when his emotions get the better of him and ruining everyone’s plans, forcing the others to find a way to solve it. This impulsive nature is also shown when he takes only but a few seconds to declare he will become a great man. When Ciel points out it won’t just happen because he says it will, Soma argues that if he says it’ll happen, then it is that simple and will happen.
At the very least, Soma’s pretty brave, even when Agni was absent for a short time. He has a deep sense of confidence, willingness to fight if he must, and while he has lived an incredibly sheltered life he isn’t one to remain passive, but instead seeks out new experiences and people despite the risk. He’s not the most complex guy, or the most mature, and at times he’s just oblivious (such as sending an assassin to see Ciel, thinking the guy is a friend), but he seeks to better himself and when he cares about someone he becomes very devoted to them.

[Soma peers into the communicator curiously, eyes round in wonder.]
I have never seen such a magical place!
[The Moogle argues and points out it explained what was going on already. Three times.]
Yes, I know you explained it to me. I like my version better. It’s more whimsical.
[He turns his back from the Moogle, frowning in what appears to be deep thought. Amber eyes widen in horror, and he picks up the Moogle to begin shaking it.]
Are my friends here with me?! Where are they! You can’t possibly be saying that they were--
[The Moogle begs Soma to put them down. Soma complies, tears in his eyes. He suddenly feels very alone. He breaks down into sobs, and the Moogle floats over to Soma in sympathy. It floats away after a moment and Soma finally calms down and wipes his eyes, speaking to himself.]
If I’m to become a great man, I can’t just sit here any longer. Ciel and Agni are the strongest people I’ve ever met. If somehow I’m here, they must be here too.
[He gets back to his feet.]
I’ll seek them out and find them myself! If I look hard enough, we’ll eventually be reunited!

If Agni could see him now.
There were few times in Soma’s life he had felt truly afraid. Rushing into things without any regard of your own safety because you were used to being invincible and you were just that good tends to do that to people. But he had never been truly alone, had he? When he thought Agni had abandoned him, he had Ciel, and his friend’s more intimidating butler. He had Agni when he thought he lost Meena--he always had Agni.
The feeling of being alone, and in such an alien place at that was suffocating for the prince. The buildings that were so small in comparison of what he was used to seemed to tower above him, confining him, closing in.
What do I do?
He always had some idea of what to do. No, that wasn’t entirely right. When he was at a loss as to what to do, someone else always knew, and he would trust them enough to follow them. It always worked out in the end that way. He couldn’t do that now, and that left him with a feeling of dread. Shaking his head, he scolded himself for even thinking that way. He was here now, so he had to do something, and the sooner he kept moving the sooner he would find someone else he knew. Despite the less than impressive town he was in, and its boring décor, it looked like a fairly large place. His friends were bound to be around here somewhere. He had a lot of looking around to do.
Previously watery amber eyes sharpened into a look of dramatic determination. Soma always did things dramatically. What could he say? Despite the exasperation it sometimes cost others it made life more interesting.
That, and it made him feel braver.
Soma nodded to himself, recalling that the strange thing, the Moogle, had mentioned a hotel. That seemed as good a place as any to start. Soma smiled, imagining the happy looks on their faces when they found out he was here too. Agni would probably cry tears of joy, and Ciel, well Ciel was never as expressive but Soma knew he’d secretly be happy and relieved! When he thought about it that way, this seemed more like it could be a fun adventure once he was reunited with the people he cared about most. After all, Soma had always harbored a secret adventurous streak. He had always explored the darkest corners of his palace he had been told time and time again to stay out of, and he enjoyed England despite the occasional homesickness he felt. It just was fun when he wasn’t alone. He would remedy that! His face and steps held an optimistic energy that was much more familiar to him than the melancholy aura he had only moments before.
He would find his friends in no time!
