I learned some good phrases in my last RS lesson; things like “What is your name?” and “How are you?” but damned if I can remember them! Feeling frustrated that I can’t memorize these key phrases I took a few days off. I’ve just started the next lesson and so far so good. I still haven’t mastered those phrases, though, but I think that’ll become easier with actual use.
Since late Saturday evening I’ve started watching, and am enjoying, Star Trek: The Next Generation. I started with season two based on the advice from my brother and Wikipedia. The later says Roddenberry, the creator of the original Star Trek, was heavily involved in the first 15 episodes of season one and they, consequently, were not very good. I mentioned this to my brother and he said, “That explains so much.”
This was inspired by the original episodes
starrelf14 has been showing me. They are fun and are fun to watch with the friend but the acting is bad enough (from my perspective) that I’m never going to be able to sit through an episode by myself which means I’ll have to watch more with Alison. Oh no…how horrible…
I’ve also become a fan of this comic:
http://satwcomic.com/ It’s like Hetalia but Scandihoovian centered.
At no prompting of mine, though I was about to, my recruiter has inquired with my future school about whether they’ve had a chance to book my plane ticket. And, if they have not, when they will be doing so. Whilst I am 95% sure I know my departure date it will be nice to have a date firmly in place and a ticket in my hand. I will be eagerly checking my e-mail in the morning.
Though consciously it is still not real, and I doubt it will be until I land, I think subconsciously I am becoming all too aware of my impending departure. I did not sleep well Sunday and woke tense and agitated. I didn’t go to bed Monday night until around 2:30, and at current I don’t want to lay down yet, either.
Of course, it could also be a timely return to night owl roots. I’ve been very good these past 6 weeks by going to bed at midnight and getting up at 9 (which is a respectable hour for the unemployed, I think) but I’m again inclined to move to a bed-at-2-and-up-at-11 scheme. Though this later plot does not work well when I want to accomplish anything with my day.
Also, has anyone ever noticed that Whoopie Goldberg has no eyebrows? How come she doesn’t look weird but Brad Dourif as Grima Wormtongue did?
