That's all for hurt/comfort week. If you have any other h/c stories stashed away somewhere, please rec them here.

Things to keep in mind:
-Recced stories can be any length, any fandom, and any pairing, as long as they fit the theme
-You don't need to write a review (unless you want to).  All that you need to include are title, author, and link to the ( Read more... )

"Daddy Knows Best" by Creed Cascade and TJ. Link is : http://insaneasylum.slashfanfiction.com/zines/sv/knowsbest.htm

It is a little over 100k. Fair warning however - there is rape (not Clex) and incest in this story. There is a happier ending and it does end as Clex, but what I liked about this is how the Kent family rallied around Lex when he needed them.

I hope it is all right that I am a little late with this.

You're not late at all :)
I'm guessing the rape is Lionel/Lex?

Yes. Man, Lionel squicks me in almost every story he is in! Oh, added warning - the rape (or the direct aftermath anyway) opens the story.

Well, I was looking for a different place to send a message from, since I made my rec in my last message, but couldn't. So...I was wondering how you define your lengths. I saw that you have epic, long, medium, and short - but what is the range for each one? For example, is short anything under 60k, and medium is 61-100k, etc.?

Also, am I right in thinking that this is a closed community (or whatever the correct term is) in terms of who can rec on the site? I give you a rec and you decide whether to rec it on the site or not; or is there a way for me to rec to the site directly?

Anyway, I think that is all I wanted to know. Thanks for your time.

The general length guidelines:
epic: >40,000 words
long: 15,000-40,000 words
medium: 5,000-15,000 words
short: <5,000 works
The actual file size of a story would depend on how it was coded; an epic length story is about 200-250k using simple html codes.

Yes, you need to be given posting privilege in order to post to this community. Jane would be the person to talk to if you're interested in becoming a guest reccer. You can reach her at: janethunder at gmail dot com

Once in a while, we'd have a "theme" week at Epic Recs (i.e. all of the recs that week would be centred around one theme), and at the end of the week, the readers are give a chance to rec some of their favourite stories. The "reader's rec" posts are tagged under "rr".

I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to ask more questions (or post more recs!).
