And sometimes all I want is to read some solid gen.
This fic is basically spot on. You could really see this happening, where Jack and Rose go with the Doctor to a new world, only oops! He forgot that sometimes there's a little problem with shifting time storms and both Jack and Rose are flung into different timelines and need to get to the Doctor again. Or have the Doctor come to them. They're both clever people and I love them so much.
Rose is flung to the past and meets Jack. Again. Jack is flung to his future and meets Ianto. It's just clever, really. There's no huge highs or lows in the fic, but the way things weave together, the way that this has affected the timeline (only not, because we know these things have happened/will happen) is smartly done.
But like I said, this fic isn't hugely dramatic. It's just a neat little piece that weaves together with canon very well, and just seems so plausible.
