Summary: While Talia dies trying to bring Gotham's reckoning, Bane recovers from his wounds. This leaves a broken protector with no one to protect. In this broken psychological state he latches onto the next person that he feels needs him as their new protector.
John Blake was just trying to give Gotham hope.
Barsad just needs someone to worship.

Review: This is a series made up of two long fics, and a couple of virginity that fill in gaps in the story and add a little bit of lightheartedness to the sweetly dark main stories.

Minerva's take on Bane is awesomely creepy while somehow managing to be sweet. You'll find yourself rooting for his relationship with John despite the more unhealthy aspects and you'll just want to cuddle Basard who is adorable and cuddly, without loosing the edge of a killer.

Normally this type of a pairing freaks me out, since it is inherently imbalanced in power. But Minerva takes her time with the story allowing it to build slowly and realistically. By the end of "Clipped" the trio's relationship seems natural, with Bane and Basard accepting what John can give without asking for more and John willing to find the place where his morals and theirs overlap.

"Caged" is darker in some ways and lighter in others. It uses a separation of the trio and the reappearance of Bruce and Commissioner Gordon to bring John fully into control of his needs and his position as the new head of the League of shadows. All while maintaining a believable story pacing that makes his realizations seem like natural extensions of the situation and John's personality. Which is truly impressive in a dark fic.
