Llassah's Ao3 Summary: Loki Laufeyson slips between the worlds unnoticed, unmissed, curious as a child. Small and weak, he was left in the temple to perish, but survived the night. His only desire is for the freedom to pass through worlds unseen, but when the Jotnar invade Midgard and he is caught up in events beyond his control, he finds himself both having and needing more.
Review: This is the Loki I've always wanted to read about. It really captures the fact that he is a "God" practically an imortall. He wasn't taken by Odin, but he was still a child out of place in his world. He grew from it and became something more, than Aesir or Jotunn. A being that was different than any other in all the nine realms.
The story gives a glimpse of Loki's life as he grows up before jumping into full detail just before the Jotunn invade earth. The Avengers of the world created by this event, are very different than the ones that appeared in any version of canon that I've run across. Quieter, fighting more with slow determination then with showey battles. All without losing the aspects of their personality which make them so recognizable.
Possible squicks from the apocalyptic setting and child neglect.
