HOW COULD WE HAVE MISSED THAT?

Aug 03, 2012 18:21

I’m excited to announce that we’re doing something a little different here at epic_recs this month! Instead of our normally scheduled RR post at the end of the month, we’re once again letting YOU become the reccer! That’s right -- you’ll once again have the chance to show off your reccing skills and share some of your favorite fics!

For those who weren’t here for the last Recapalooza, I’m sure you’re wondering ‘what does all this mean?’

It’s simple: Have a favorite story in a fandom that we just never seem to rec in? Do you really want to share it with someone? This is your chance!

From now until the end of the month, recs posted here (and that follow our posting guidelines below) will be posted to the community starting at the beginning of next month. All comments will be screened so please feel free to rec as many or as few as you’d like!

But don't hit the comment button just yet! Epic Recs has some strict posting guidelines that must be followed (we consider ER's consistent quality to be one of the main selling points of the comm) -- any comments that ignore any of the following rules will be disqualified.

Rules/guidelines:
-Recs will be posted every Friday beginning next month. Credit to the reader who wrote the rec will be given.
-There are no limits on how many recs you can offer so rec early and often!
-Stories in fandoms that are regularly recced on ER may not be recced. (Any fandoms tagged with our small fandom tag are allowed.)
-Stories must be complete and publicly available. If it requires a password (no matter how easy to get) or joining a comm/group/website (no matter how free), it cannot be recced at Epic Recs.
-Check your grammar and spelling. We don't mind fixing a typo or two, but if we have to rewrite your entire review it won’t get posted.
-You may not rec your own fic or fic written for you.
-To rec a story, copy and paste the following into the comment box and fill it out completely. Every space must be filled in. If the author doesn't have an LJ or website, or the story has no warnings, you should use n/a.

Code for the basic epic_recs rec template:

Subject: [Title] by [Author] (Rating)

Categories:
Length:
Warnings:

Author on LJ:
Author Website: http://www.example.com/">Website name

Summary:

http://www.example.com/">Fic name

Some slight variations are acceptable, such as adding a summary before the review or quoted text behind a cut.

As per comm policy, we consider it mandatory for all reccers to warn for: character death, dub/non-con, bdsm, mpreg, incest, and unhappy endings.

Recs MUST be submitted before the end of the month if you want to them to be posted!

Having said all that, have at it and have fun!
