Review:
Captured by a group of wayward demons, a much abused and tortured Zeke is awaiting his fate, only to be rescued by the Devil. This, unfortunately for Lucifer, has some (possibly) long-term consequences.

This is one of those stories that could have easily been a story arc in the series, even despite the pairing or maybe because of it. With just enough snark and tension for Zeke and Lucifer’s characters to come to life, there’s something about this fic and its sequel that is vaguely uneasy, as though the characters’ own discomfort is bleeding through the lines and making it clear that everything isn’t as it should be. They’re conflicted and uncomfortable, both by the situation and each other, and that comes through beautifully, especially once Zeke gets a rather startling truth revealed to him.

Though there are no clear-cut answers to some of the questions posed in the story, I still found myself enjoying every minute of the journey, with both characters a tad confused and a lot conflicted; questioning themselves and their future even when everything is said and done. One thing I do have to say, however, is that you do need to have at least a working knowledge of the series before trying this one out as some of characters might be lost on you otherwise.
