Review:
Gerry and Julius's relationship starts adversary, but quickly develops into friendship and love through the events of the movie.
"Remember the Titans" is one of my favorite movies, but strangely enough I really never felt any shipping vibes or the need to read fics about the movie. When I stumbled upon "Sunny Days," however, I knew I had found an author that could convince me about the Gerry/Julius ship and a story that deserved to be recced.
There are a lot of things I really like about this: the great narration through Gerry's point of view, the seemingly natural progression of the boys' relationship, the fact that they are willing to break some barriers, while still balking at others. The huge issues that are present throughout the story (segregation and racism, homophobia, Gerry's accident) are not ignored, but neither are they allowed to overpower the amazing relationship that develops between Julius and Gerry. All in all, this is a wonderfully written story that really showcases the strength of the guys' feelings for each other even if they never dare to express them out loud.
