Seven months after the events of the movie, John and Matt run into each other again.
It's tough writing summaries for post DH4 fic, since nearly all of them have the same premise. Still, I love seeing the different ways Matt can grow into his new, post-terror life, I love watching John learn to relax enough to let someone else into his world, and I love the various ways their relationship develops (not the least because, unlike some other pairings with large age gaps, both Matt and John are very much adults). Lamardeuse portrays all of the above with good writing and great characterizations. Bonus: not only do John's kids find out, but *so do Matt's parents*! Very, very awesome.
