Review:
Forensic anthropologist Jensen Ackles and FBI Agent Jared Padalecki team up to solve crimes with intuition (Jared), brute force (Jared), and bones (Jensen). Other squints and law enforcement personnel also make secondary or cameo appearances.
As an avid fan of Bones (despite its wildly madeup science or whatever they're trying to pass for science), I was just thrill to find out that someone's written a J2 version of the show. Better yet, a more scientifically accurate version. Although Gunshy is loosely based off Bones, Jensen and Jared are not direct stand-ins for Temperance Brennan and Seeley Booth. Jensen is a bit more awkward and a lot less confident, and Jared's characterization is...very fanon, for the lack of a better word. But nonetheless, they make a great team and lives are saved in the end (i.e. there is a happy ending, if some of you *coughjanecough* must know).
I really wish the producers of Bones (or CSI, or Criminal Minds, or any other criminal procedural show) would bother to hire, and actually listen to, a real scientist in the field. However, we are fortunately blessed with talented fans who transform our fantasies into wonderful stories.
