Xander works at a fast food joint. A homeless William comes in to get out of the cold, writing poetry. It doesn’t take long for Xander to fall head over heels for him. On the night after their first kiss, Xander runs into him again, only this guy is a leather wearing, cigarette smoking bad-ass. You guessed it, this is actually his twin brother, Spike.
In the Buffy fandom, there’s nothing I love so much as human au’s and ensemble pieces, and this story is an excellent example of both of these. If you think Xander as a gay burger slinger is entertaining, just imagine how great his manager Faith and her girlfriend Buffy are. This is a great example of homeless fic, too, in the sense that neither of the boys are prostituting themselves for money. The hurt/comfort in the beginning of the fic is great, and the Xander/Spike relationship is dynamite. The incest isn’t quite as annoying as the average incest fic since William and Spike are actually the same character in the series. All in all, this is an amusing, fun read.
