Summary:  A few weeks before the Vancouver Olympics, Evan Lysacek wakes up in an alternate world - one where he's been dating Johnny Weir since the Torino Olympics.  Will he learn to like this version of events?  And when he returns home, will he be able to stand the way things are?

Review:  This was a great way to start dipping into the Figure Skating fandom, and the popular character pairings.  (While these are based, obviously, on real people and events, the fandom has built up certain common characterizations, such that I feel comfortable thinking of them as characters.)  This fic does an excellent job with the characters, and keeps the plot tripping along at good speed.

I do love a good universe-hopping fic, and this one hit the spot.  Evan learns in his trip to the alternate world that he has misjudged Johnny in our world.  In seeing how happy his alternate is and how well he gets along with a Johnny who loves him, Evan can't help but want to recreate the relationship in our world.  I appreciate that Passe_simple prevented the match-up in our world from going too smoothly.  After all, there have been four years of tension and dislike that the alternates never had to deal with.  Nevertheless, the fic ends on such a point that I don't even need to hope that the two will get together in our world - I know it's going to work out.

As a plus, the background characters are just terrific.  For many of them we see both versions of the character, and it's interesting to see which characters have changed and which are eerily the same.  Stephane Lambiel in particular was hilarious, and his advice to Evan was both sweet and zany.
