Review: Edward Elric's quest for home takes him to Hogwarts and into the life of one Tom Marvolo Riddle.
Bonus rec! If you're in the mood for a short, somewhat creepy crossover, and you're familiar with both fandoms, you should give this little fic a try. Putting characters from other fandoms into Hogwarts is always iffy, but Stickmarionette pulls it off. Why? She paid attention to timing, and thankfully went for school-age Voldemort rather than the 1990s Harry***, and she let the characters be themselves.
Unusually for a crossover, you see a character trying to bring out the worst in the other, rather than the best, and he is somewhat successful (although Ed does try to pull Tom out of his downward spiral, to his credit); also unusual is to see the effects of the crossover be subsumed by canon. As a plus, Ed gets to be a teacher - and the lesson you get to see is marvelous. [Disclosure: I may have a certain inappropriate affection for Ed-as-teacher fic.]
***Technically, the 1940s is also wrong, but the author used some FMA anime canon to explain that.
