Dreamwidth Mirror Update

There's clearly an interest in having a Dreamwidth mirror of Epic Rants.  My plan had been to get everything imported over and then respond to comments to my previous post with a link to the new comm.  Unfortunately, while community importing is theoretically working at the moment, for some reason it's not working for any of my communities.  I do

I think I saw something about community imports being currently restricted to paid users due to high demand; don't know if that's been lifted yet.

You can buy as little as 1 month paid account service & then import.

I have some points left over from the deal in December where they gave you extra points for purchases, if you'd like a month's service transferred over. ;)

I appreciate the thought, but I have to admit that I don't mind waiting for the transfer. Honestly, it sounds a bit daunting and I'm kind of relieved to have an excuse to wait to see how ya'lls transfer of Epic Recs goes. Which reminds me -- did you get switched to maintainer status yet? I figured slyprentice could do that once I made her a maintainer, but if not please let me know and I'll get it taken care of.

I didn't want to import everything before slyprentice is ready, but I just successfully imported just an icon. Yay!

I think community imports are now open to all DW members.

I imported my community and it was very easy. :) Just make sure that you switch your DW import to the fanfic rants so you don't accidentally import the community to your personal journal. The import will also import your user profile into the new community so you don't have to retype in the community information.

It took me all of five minutes to import. It was amazingly easy. :)

EDIT: I suck! I kind of wasn't paying close attention to your post. :( I have no clue as to why your community import wasn't working. Because last I read it was open to everyone.

Not a problem! I've actually had some offers from folks willing to do the import for me, but I have to admit I don't mind waiting. That's one of those "when I'm in the mood for it" type tasks:)
