This is about me watching the Yankees defeat the Red Sox, LIVE

How I feel:

I've been neglecting watching baseball in favor of hockey playoffs, but I've really been in the mood to get to a game, which is why at the end on last week, on a whim, I decided that I was going to a game and taking my sister with me. I looked at the upcoming schedule, and wouldn't you know, the Yankees were playing the Red Sox at home. I made the executive decision to get tickets, because never in all my years had I attended a Yankees-Red Sox game (my sister had been to 2 prior to this, both at Fenway). We sat in the right field bleachers, because we just love sitting out there.

So yeah, no big deal but this was literally the best game I've ever been to for any sport, ever. IT HAD EVERYTHING! A 5-0 lead, losing that lead, being down by 2 going into bottom of the 9th, a walk-off home run, pie in the face, the Red Sox losing, etc. And I got to see Fransisco Cervelli play, and I irrationally love him! And Hughes was pitching!

When the Yankees were up 5-0, I just knew things were going to be batshit insane, and probably not in a way I liked, so I wasn't really surprised several innings later when the score was 9-7 Red Sox. However, when A-Rod got up to bat in the 9th, I had a really good feeling, like I KNEW he was hitting a home run right then and there. And I was right, as always!* Then everyone in the place proceeded to lose their shit and it was just magical and I have a sore throat from screaming. And of course after Marcus Thames hit a walk-off home run it was just pandemonium and the noise level was unreal. I have never before been to a game with an ending like that. Good lord. Amazing.

My sister was excited to see Papelbon come in, because he feel apart or somethingat the last game she was at at Fenway. We had a good laugh afterward about this.

Oh, and during the game, the people sitting directly behind me got engaged! This is also something I've never seen happen. I literally could have reached out and grabbed the ring out of the guy's hand, that's how close I was to these people. What a great evening for them.

And here are some photos, should you be interested:

There was once a stadium here.

Ok, we literally just missed the Yankees taking batting practice, so here's some Red Sox pretending to be birds:

Blurry, but this sort of captures the feeling of the walk-off:

*Earlier this year, I went to a Rangers game with my sister, and I said, "Ok, watch! Gaborik is totally gonna score soon." And he totally did, right after I said that. Apparently I can predict superstar players doing what they're paid to to do.

stop being so cute, things that are epic, baseball, the most ultimate badass things of all, obnoxious gif time, things i am a fan of, new york yankees, nyc, sister, pictures
