"Who travels for love finds a thousand miles not longer than one." -Japanese Proverb

I'm almost finished watching Lost. I love that show. It's weird though, whenever I start to admire (sometimes identify with) a character they go and do something really shitty. Charlie is a good example. Prolly the only ones that have yet to outright disappoint me are Locke and Desmond. I like Desmond cause of how he ended up on the island. The fact that when someone asked him if he played golf he replied "I'm Scottish" made me happy as well. But how determined he was beforehand in wanting to win a sailing race around the world to prove himself is what made me like him. Locke is sort of the same. The way he ended up on the island makes me like him. He wanted to do some kind of hunting trip but since he was in a wheelchair they denied him. After he got to the island, he pretty much got his wish. It's his character traits that really make him one of my favorite characters too. Actually, I just outright envy Locke. Whenever he wants to do something that he believes in and everyone tells him it's pointless or he can't do it he tells them that no one can tell him what he can and can't do. I like that. I wish I was more like that. It seems like all my life I've been told what I can and can't do. He is often angry about it though. I guess living your whole life being told what to do can get to you after awhile. So when he is told he can't do something it ends up fueling his desire. Still though, I see that as an admirable trait. You just need a sense of objectiveity to level it out.

Also, the fact that they killed off Hurley's love interest just pissed me off. I considered not watching anymore but I wanted to see how he handled it. Seriously, why did they have to kill off the fat guys love interest!? gah!
