I have a deep love for art, especially large art.
I was fortunate enough the other day to run into a fellow artist
in the studio as she was moving out. While it's sad to see such a talented
lady go, I was able to score 3 pieces of large art from her.
I had always loved her work and starred at it with a certain amount of admiration,
so when she said she was setting out some pieces with a 'free' sign,
I jumped right on them. They're older works of hers but lovely none the less.
It's kind of funny because I've always wanted some large art to hang around my house.
Since I never really had anything of a significant size I always just fell back on art
clusters, as I wrote about over on the Murphy Bed blog I contribute too.
If you're curious, that entry can be read by clicking
here.
Now I finally have my large pieces and no where to put them!
I suppose that means it's time for some rearranging of sorts.
Along with the large pieces I have also finally retrieved some of my art
from a gallery I participated in a year ago. I went from scrounging up
miscellaneous frames and sketch pieces to being overloaded with beautiful works.
I hope this trend of luck continues as nothing makes me happier than being surrounded
by creativity.
In other news, I also stumbled across this other blog which was kind enough to scour the internet and find for us inexpensive prints of some of the top artists in the alternative art field. So, if you've been looking for something to done your walls with without spending a ton of money, check out
We <3 Prints.
Granted, I'm one who would rather collect from friends and local artists, I still can't turn down a chance to own an Audrey Kawasaki, even if it's not an original.
