On my way home from work yesterday, a drunk driver turned left illegally into on-coming traffic and I hit him at about 45 miles an hour. He was carried off via ambulance, I opted to wait for Dad to come get me I didn't care to add to the trauma of being rammed, my car annihilated, and about twenty thousand people rubbernecking to watch me blubber ( Read more... )

Wow Kel. That is beyond fucked up. Please tell me insurance is going to deal with most of this. And you're going to file civil suit.

Your story is heart warming in some ways. The other day I passed the most insane accident I had ever seen. Without going into too many details, it involved 4 cars and had Just happened when I turned the corner. One girl was pinned to a tree, and the Engine of the other car had flown out of it, over 4 lanes, and was face down on the sidewalk... with two tail pipes sticking up out of it like a demented tree. I don't even know how that happens... anyway. Obviously the street was a mess, but I saw some amazing things go down for the girl that was now stuck between a tree and a van. I'd never felt more inclined to get out of a car and help before. But the people there, and what they were doing, made me feel like everything that needed to be done was being done. I'm glad that something similar happened to you.

Toss me your myspace. Not that I have one so not like I can see it, but maybe I will. I hope you feel better. =/

thank you for the wellwishes sweetie. and no panicing. even if the other dude turns out to be an illegal immigrant felon drunkenly driving a stolen car with no license (which is like.. the worst case I can think of) still gonna be okay. Daddy always told me carry as much insurance as you can afford, so I do, and then some. So I should be good *knock on wood*. I am grateful to be alive, and gotta wonder if maybe my brother didn't pull a few strings from the afterlife to keep me that way. My car smushed like a beer can and I was able to walk right out and away from it. Kinda humbling experience, actually.
