Keeping the Faith

May 03, 2008 00:31

I wrote this a few days ago and thought that I'd share it . . . It was written after a particularly rough day - that wasn't just rough for me, but for a few people who I care about and are close to me. So, here goes:

Today I say a prayer. I say this prayer for my brothers and sisters in pain. I say this prayer for my siblings in tears. This prayer is for those who are breaking. This prayer is for those who are bleeding inside. Right now I say a prayer for those beaten down. Right now I say a prayer for those who can't give up the ghosts that haunt them. In this moment I say a prayer for those who cannot speak. I say a prayer now for those who have fallen. Today I pray for those burdened by what they should not be. I pray the pains be eased and ebbed, washing away with the tide to sea. I pray that the tears will not be in vain. I pray that the breaking will soon be healed. I pray that those bleeding inside find serenity and tranquility. I pray that those beaten down find hope and strength to carry on. I pray that those who can't give up the ghosts that haunt them find a way to amend and forgive. I pray that those who cannot speak find words of wisdom and taste grace. I pray that those who have fallen find aid and kindness. I pray that those who are burdened by what they should not be find release. Mostly I pray that these things should not happen, but that they should forever cease. Directly I pray that love, joy and happiness fill all lives. Quietly I make this prayer for all who are lost that they may find their way. For those who take on the world's troubles, I pray for comfort and respite. I pray that those seeking freedom find faith. For these things I pray, and for this prayer goes the world.
