Call up the grandmother's to be & see if THEY want something special done for the new parents; if not, you will hear it everytime you see them. My sister's first baby, I threw the shower & to this day my mom still reminds me of how I left the camera at home because SHE wanted to make a collage for the new baby & without the shower pictures "well why bother then!?" My fault my 20 yr old niece doesn't know how much my mom loves her *rolls eyes*
Get a sign in book, so everyone can leave a momento. Sometimes it's a rattle with tags, or a poster or a book; my sister still has hers.
Get all the "old" moms to write a mommy-ism that will help the new parents ie how to fold the diapers if they're cloth so you don't need to iron (my aunt to my sister...who used Pampers!).
Play scrabble with words about babies.
Get a diaper cake & make the guests guess how many diapers are used or put baby diaper pins in a jar & do the same thing and the winner gets a gift (like a centerpiece)
