Mandy,
I feel what you mean now, I was wondering what the lack of something was but you’re right, the hum of magic is little more than a murmur of magic. It feels lacking now.
I had spoken to Nicola a few times, she and I used to study for Charms and Transfiguration together last year. I should really send her a note asking if she’s okay now, it’s just a little unsettling to see so many familiar if distant faces gone. I’d imagine most of them have gone home although I can’t see them being any safer there then here, less so if that’s possible but maybe they have some protection hanging over them.
I have to say the announcement though surprising was rather amusing too. The shock on some people’s faces was priceless although I suppose I need to purchase an engagement present. I wonder what sort of wedding they’re thinking of… I imagine considering it’s a Malfoy affair it’ll be rather well to do and quite the event.
As for the war becoming more intense, the Prophet has been reporting some odd events in the last week. I mean beyond the usual disappearance. Same, about our brothers I mean, mine sent a note to our parents a few days back saying that he’s okay but nothing more. It’s just a relief to know that he’s at least with your brother, they’ll look after each other’s back as much as possible so that’s a small comfort. Maybe if something shakes them up they might come to their senses and realise that this one is better left to ride out on the sidelines.
Anyway, thank you for the tea the other night. It was good to relax for a while.
