Mandy,
My parents managed to bundle me up and get me out this afternoon by tempting me with an early Christmas present; it’s a rather thick lined coat. Perfect for keeping out the bitter winds. Family on their own indeed can be stressful. Especially without my brother to divert attention on to like usual.
I’m glad that we’ve managed to find time to get along this year also, I didn’t realise how much I missed your company until now. It has been rather refreshing to escape from the usual crowd and I have to say your housemates are rather amusing to be around.
I believe my brother was last seen in the company of a small group of ex-Durmstrang students he studied with. To be honest my parents rather think that he’s exerting a bit of independence for a while by going off with company they’d rather he wasn’t associated with right now. Family names have been mentioned from some of those who were convicted as followers of you-know-who. Well you know how they like to keep the family out of scandal as much as possible. Do ask Thomas if you see him. In fact Thomas will probably know best if my brother has passed him on his journeys.
I can’t wait till you arrive. We can have a proper talk beforehand. It’ll be easier to discuss things that way. Perhaps your father could drop by and have a short talk with mine, if certain things became known to yours. I shall leave you for the moment anyway! I hope I haven’t put a dampener on the holiday. It's just rather stressful somewhat being the only child for the present.
