today is going shockingly well. I'm caught up on everything that absolutely has to be done by today, and it's only 12:30.
I even managed to finish 2 projects that I was going to leave for after I get back.
On a more ego-gratifying note, I sent out drafts of the new college site design to the whole college (which makes my stomach churn and my hands go cold), and have gotten uniformly enthusiastic feedback. Even the digital design guy who always gives me a hard time had 99% good things to say.
Visual design is my weak spot as a web developer, and this particular design was something I struggled with -- a lot. This time around, I kept the number of people I asked for early feedback fairly small, and worked in depth with the two best print designers in our office. So hopefully when I get back I'll be able to go fairly quickly to the implementation phase. (which, with my lovely if bizarre templates, shouldn't be more than a couple of days work!)
that's certainly a relief, to be taking off with everything happy and settled here at the office.
