Supernatural episode 4.14
And as always guys,
Wow man, this episode's got me thinking so many things, I'll try to remember them all.
I got a kick out of the stripper-siren's all being named after Disney Princesses. Hmm. I wonder if there are any Disney characters named Nic...
Anyway, I pegged Nic for the siren as soon as he started gushing about the car. And then the scene with him DRINKING in the strip club? That's a little stupidity on Dean's part, thinking a fed would drink on the job. Of course, that might be part of the siren's subtle magic, enticing it's victims with what they want to hear before pulling the spitting dinosaur trick.
And let me just say, we were totally cheated of a scene with Nic kissing either Dean or Sam. I am bummed. Why did he spit at Sam when he could so easily have kissed him?
Anyway, the thing Dean wants the most is a "trusting Sam" - it goes back to thinky thoughts I had bad in season 2, back when Dean/Jo was the hated pairing. Dean can't see a woman as an equal partner for him. He has no conception of being able to work with a woman, lacking a mother, he's never seen his parents act as partners. Sure, women can be mothers or lovers, but he's never seen the dynamic of spouses as equals and partners. So to him, the perfect partner IS Sam/male. (Hmm, upon reread I notice there is a lack of male/female equal partnerships in SPN in general. Meta for another time...)
Of course, when Nic said "We can be brothers forever, I'm sure I'm not the only one using quotes around "brothers."
So, Sammy get a sex scene in a hospital office with the blinds OPEN. Let me just say, Jared, those back muscles? Oh my lord, they should be outlawed. *fans self* Although, as Dean noted, that's slightly out of character for Sam. He usually doesn't do the one-night day stand thing. Madison was an anomoly Dean had to push him toward and he knew Ruby for over a year before he boinked her. Also note that this season Sam is heading towards brunettes more? That was always Dean's thing. This also harkens back to Sam feeling he had to become Dean back in season 3, especially when venomed!Sam told Dean he was the better hunter.
And can I just say the fight between Dean and Sam? Unbelievably hot! (Ok, maybe I have a problem...) I've been saying since EMC last year that I wanted a Dean/Sam showdown. I was thinking a little more Darth Vader: Join me Luke! but this works. It also probably foreshadows the end of the season, because you SO know they're going down that road. (hmm, that makes me want to poke at the Jedi!Sam verse...)
And the boys were just starting to make tentative steps to being together again, and now they're all broken. Again. Man.
And no preview! I feel deprived. No new SPN for 3 weeks!!!
Oh and how could I have possibly forgot...BOBBY ROCKS. The phones! The showing up to save the day! Bringing the boys SODA cause he knows they are so not ready to be drunk around each other right now. Venom is enough. I was so happy to see Jim.
EDIT: I so thought they were going to pull Sam being immune to the siren-spit via his demon blood.
