First up, chapter 3 is up at My Sims Journal

I wore "Bliss" today and smelled like a chocolate brownie all morning. YUM!

Yesterday I went to the public library to return a book that had been recalled and ended up leaving with even more graphic novels. (Batgirl: Year 1, Bruce Wayne: Murder, Bruce Wayne: Fugitive, a manga Batman, and Crisis on Infinite Earths.) I asked what my book limit was, fearing I was close. However, he told me the limit was 30!!!! THIRTY!!!!! I could have gotten even more graphic novels!

I finished "Blood and Chocolate." It's pretty good. Lots of teen angst though, which is what you'd expect from a YA novel. I found the author's take on werewolves pretty interesting, especially the violence inherent in their society. I read a review of the movie and I'm pretty disappointed in some of the changes they've made. Like, for example, having the movie talk place in Eastern Europe, and getting rid of the heroine's mother. A big part of the novel is her relationship (or lack thereof) with her mom.

Anyway, it's a quick read, Vivian is an interesting heroine. She can be at turns vain and jealous, yet noble and sensual. She's complicated, and that's more than I can say for most female characters Young Adults are exposed to.
