Day Five
Today was so much fun! The morning started out with sleeping in! It was nice. I ended up getting the afternoon Traditions class, like all my roomies except Kelsey. She had the 8 am one. So I just tried to catch up on all my emails and talked to people back home.
Next got all dressed up and going to Traditions class at the Disney Univesity. The videos they showed about Disney and the park made me cry, particularly the last one which was about the Year of a Million dreams. And don’t worry, it wasn’t a sad cry. It was a very happy cry, as working for Disney has always been my dream. The class was a lot of fun, and I did learn a lot about Walt Disney and the parks.
All dressed up (with my new Disney name tag too!) after Traditions. Keep in mind this was at the end of the day lol.
After that we bussed it back to Vista, quickly changed, and then caught the bus to the Magic Kingdom. Carol's innate ability to fall asleep struck again. She fell asleep sitting on the bus, and then flopped over onto the seats and it didn't even wake her! Silly girl! We then met up with Kelsey (who had gone just an hour before us). As the monorail approached the MK station I started getting misty eyed, to finally be there. Then when we got off it I was bouncing and dancing! It was so great! We headed to Pecos Bills for our first meal in the parks. It was soooo yummy. I had the barbeque pork bun.

View of the Magic Kingdom from the Monorail.
First Magic Kindgom meal! Mmmmm Pecos Bills.
After that Carol and I went on Splash Mountain. First ride. Was amazing as always. Since it was dark, we got an amazing view of the Castle. Carol and I didn’t get very wet, which was nice. We were singing all the songs as we went through it, it was great!
You can just make out Carol and I waving from Splash Mountain.
We met back up with Kelsey and Karen, and be lined it to the Haunted Mansion, as it will be closing for refurbs in a few days for the rest of the summer! Kelsey and I both knew all the words, even from the ghost host! Nice to know I’m not the only Disney geek like that ;) After that we attempted to find the bride’s ring in the pavement, but Kelsey thought that it was possibly removed but we wanted to look just to be sure. We went back on the ride, and met another Disney geek like us Kyle. He’s on the College Program doing Custodial. He didn’t think the ring was there anymore either.
Once the ride was done we realised Spectromagic was on, but we wanted to go on something else. Since we couldn’t make it to Pirates, I led them through Fantasyland to Mickey’s Phillharmagic. Amazing as always. Despite having seen it, I still jump at certain parts.
Carol and Kelsey being geeks at Phillharmagic.
Carol and I then made our way through the maze of a crowd to go home (I had a class the next day) while Kelsey and Karen stayed for Wishes. We had just missed the bus back home, so we perused a shop where I got the light up Year of a Million Dreams Mickey ears, and a keychain for my apartment key.
We made our way back, and went to bed. Though I was still excited, so it took me a while to fall asleep!
Day Six
I had to get up early to go to my Epcot Discovery Day. SO MUCH FUN!!! Oh my goodness it was good. We learned about the history of Epcot, and had a fun tour of the park. I have to say, Epcot is definitely the best park. ;) More misty eyes on my part during it, it was just so great.
Caught the bus back home, but got off at the Commons so I could walk to the Outlet Mall (by crossing this HUGE church parking lot). I needed to get shoes and socks for my uniform. You have no idea how hard it is to find solid black runners in an outlet mall. Yeesh. My feet got all blistered from my dress shoes from all the walking! Finally I found a pair. Met up with the roomies briefly as they came for shoes and pants, but went home so I could get some lunch.
The roomies eventually made it back, and then Kelsey and I headed out to Downtown Disney to see if attempt number 2 at getting a cellphone would work. We stopped in first at Goofy’s Candy Company to get slushies there, then at the World of Disney as Kelsey wanted to get a watch.
Headed through the crowds at Pleasure Island to get to the West Side. Virgin was sold out of the Marbl phones, but they did have the Oystr ones, so we both got those. Realised another bus was coming soon, and if we missed it we would have to wait an hour. So we rushed it all the way back to the Marketplace. Had to stop in at Ghiradelli’s for the chocolate, and then rushed to the busstop. We made it :)
Got back home, and attempted to activate our phones. Virgin wouldn’t take our Canadian credit cards. So need to buy Top Up cards from Wallgreens. Oh well. It was really frustrating, because our house phone is all fuzzy and not working great.
Day Seven
Got up early to clean the Apartment, as we were supposed to get an inspection. Three of my roomies had gotten up even earlier to do some of it, so I just had to finish up what they missed before they rushed off to their various training (my two other roomies had the day off, so they were still sleeping). Wandered across to Walgreens to get Virgin Top Up cards, and then came back and got my phone activated.
After that I caught the bus early to Disney University as there’s a Vista Credit Union branch in there and I wanted to start an account. The only thing was that I didn’t have my passport with me, and they need it for ID. Oh well. Sat in the cafeteria for a bit, before clocking in and going to class.
It was fun, but it was Merchantainment. Learned how to do customer service and how to use their registers. During our break, I got a pop from the vending machines, and opening it up back in the classroom. HUGE mistake. The thing fizzed up and exploded everywhere. And I mean A LOT. My trainer remarked that it was a bigger show than Fantasmic. I was so horribly embarrassed!! That totally deflated me, as I felt so horrible about it. :(
When class was done it was all raining out (Tropical Storm Barry, we have a thunderstorm and tornado watch going on). Caught the bus back home. We had all planned to go to Epcot, but traffic had been miserable and now it was pouring rain out. So we decided to stay in. Kelsey and I were too tired to make dinner, so we put on the rain gear, grabbed the umbrella and went out to Chik-fill-A (which is apparently pronounced Chik-fill-EH, not Chik-fill-ah, as we had been calling it). The chicken was really good (better than KFC), though their fries were a bit salty. I had a coupon, so for a $3 dinner I was really happy.
We got back to the apartment soaking wet. After changing it was just a night of vedging with the roomies and talking on the phone. I need to get another Top Up card for my phone, as I used them all talking to people since it was the first time I could call anyone. Oh well.
Go see more Day 5,6 & 7 photos!! Bye for now everyone!
