I haven't written here for two weeks. I wish I could say I was busy; unfortunately I would have to say that I was tired.
Vacation was wonderful. We managed to get into Spamalot for the Wednesday matinée by waiting 2 1/4 hours in the cancelation line at The Shubert. And it was worth every minute of the wait. Tim Curry was perfectly cast as King Arthur. And what an incredible baritone! Alan Tudyk has taken over for Hank Azaria for a few months while Azaria films the new season of Huff. He was so hilarious-- as fond as I am of Hank Azaria, I don't think I missed him.
No words can describe how fabulous David Hyde Pierce was. He sings! He dances! He's silly! Run away! Run away! And, my commentary would be remiss without mentioning Sara Ramirez, the only female lead in the show. A real scene-stealer.
David Hyde Pierce and Alan Tudyk came out at the stage door and signed Playbills and took pictures with people. Yes, mine is signed. I felt totally inappropriate about squeeing, because hundreds of people in London were killed and injured right after I attended the show, and I was concerned about my Fuselage and LJ friends. Thank G-d you are all okay!
Must catch up with you later, as I am sorely behind here, at work, and at home. I am hosting a wedding feast for my good friend who just got married yesterday (I spent 2 hours before the wedding running errands for the happy couple as well as 1 hour afterward!). There are going to be about 25 people having dinner in my den on Wednesday night. We will have a whole lotta cooking going on here for the next two days...
