Sherlock stamping questions

Jul 26, 2012 22:07

Greetings friends!

If any of you are Sherlock fans, (which I know some of you are, because you got me into it in the first place), I have something I wanted to talk about. Stamping.

A few months ago, I joined and applied for a Stamp over at sherlock_stamps

Problem: only one person has voted

So, I thought I would put it to you guys to unofficially tell me which character I am! This could be fun, right?

Basics
Name: Luna Rose
Age: 26
Location: Eastern United States

Three positive qualities: Optimistic, Witty, Dreamer

Three negative qualities: Sarcastic, Indecisive, Clumsy

Describe how you see yourself (go into as much detail as you like):
*Eccentric
*Overactive imagination
*Clever
*Cheeky
*Booknerd
*Clumsy
*Vast amounts of useless trivia in my head( it makes Jeopardy a lot of fun to watch, and playing Trivia Pursuit!)
*Play therapist and sounding board to friends,
*Thirst for juicy knowledge an adventure
*Good sense of humor
*Singer
*Musician
*Writer (writes rom/com fiction and poetry)
*Usually has head in the clouds, nose in a book, and feet firmly on the ground.
*A good listener
*Friendly

Describe how you feel others percieve you (again, as much detail as you like):
I've been told that I remind people of Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series, Ten from Doctor Who, and Kurt Hummel from Glee. I'm known as the Nice-Yet-Odd-Girl, aka, that one girl you smile and wave to, but secretly wonder what on Earth she is thinking, or what she will say next. People see me as "sweet" and "helpful", with a dry, witty, wickedly sarcastic humor.

I've also been told that I can make people laugh even in the hardest, darkest times, such as a funeral. Yeah, I'm a bit weird, but I love it.

Any beliefs or values that you hold strongly?:
Knowledge is power, and books are the BEST weapons
Ignorance isn't bliss
Violence isn't the answer
Equality should be a reality for all
Laugh as often as possible. It wll keep you young.
Forget regret.
Love is love
Smile, and be kind to others. You could make somebody's day.
Sing whenever you can.
Dance in your livingroom, if you feel like it.
Be Open-minded.
Have Empathy.
Never let anyone treat you like a doormat.
Don't just talk, listen. You might learn something.
Pay it forward. Karma is a bitch, but can be a very good friend.

Fears/Worries: I have some to choose from. I'm afraid of cats. I'm not fond of heights. Deep murky water freaks me out a bit. I think, though, my greatest fear is harm coming to a loved one, and me being powerless to help.

As for worries, I honestly don't worry about much. Dwelling on one's missteps and happenings will only lead to stress and heartache. If you can change something, change it. If you can't, make the most of things and be peaceful and happy while you can.

Hobbies/Interests: Reading, Writing, Singing, playing musical instraments(I can play piano, violin, guitar, handbells, and the recorder), Dancing (from in my kitchen, to the grocery isle), bursting out into song at random moments (same as before), hanging out with friends, going to movies, Stargazing, going on Nature walks, stalking the library/book store,

Goals/Ambitions:
*Travel, particularly to Ireland, Scotland, and London, but I wouldn't mind seeing Italy, and going back to NYC
*Visit every state in the United States
*Meet Darren Criss
*Publish a novel
*Own a Library
*Live in a hate free world, where recycling is a way of life, and equality is a reality for everyone
*Start or help out a charity
*Go to Disneyland (I've been to Disney World, but I would love to see Disneyland)

Favourite book/s: Harry Potter series, Sherlock Holmes series, Alice in Wonderland, Jane Austen novels, Lord of the Rings, Jane Eyre, The Hunger Games series, Skakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Grimm's Fairy Tales, A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Peter Pan...and basically anything fantasy/sci-fi and/or with action/adventure/romance. I read and like a LOT of books.
Favourite film/s: Bramm Stoker's Dracula, Phantom of the Opera, Star Wars, Disney movies, Musicals, Dead Poet's Society, Love Actually, Were the World Mine, Pirates of the Caribbean-Curse of the Black Pearl, The Matrix, Titanic, and MANY more!
Favourite TV show/s: Doctor Who, Merlin, Sherlock (duh), Ghost Hunters, Glee, Torchwood, Supernatural, Trueblood, Castle, Bones
Favourite music: Pop, Rock, Orchestra, Jazz, Musicals...I like a bit of everything! =D

Either/Or
Safety or Adventure: Caustiously Adventurous, like going on an adventure with a mobile phone, and First Aid and Sewing kits.
Introvert or Extrovert: A bit of both
Optimist or Pessimist: Optimistic!
Follower or Leader: A little bit of both. A leader should always take his/her followers thoughts and suggestions into account, and a follower must never follow a leader blindly.
Hyper or Calm: Once again, a bit of both
Mature or Immature: Wise beyond your years, but a child at heart

Reactions and Interactions
How well do you cope under pressure?: Pretty well actually. Im pretty laid back, and can keep calm and a level head in a crisis.
How do respond to authority and/or authority figures?: I respect my elders, say "Sir" and "Ma'am", am honest, polite, hospitable and understanding, and expect the same in return. When the authority is dishonest, immature or just plain rude, my respect is lost. I also admit that while I am all those things on the outside, I do crave rebelion.
How do you interact with your family and friends?: Friends are the family you choose. To my friends, I am a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand, (wow, I'm a LOT of body parts, huh?), offerer of great hugs, and cracker of many jokes at the oddest of times. Most of us talk frequently, and have many movie nights together.

My family is another story.

My Mother is very closed minded and conservative. She makes big holiday dinners like Martha Stewart, and panics when things don't go perfectly her way. She is very bossy and, while I love her, she is very "fake", especially when she is in mixed company, or when she wants to impress someone. I find it best to give her hugs, eat her food, and try to steer clear of conversations from topics that we don't agree on, instead of her yelling at me, and telling me that my opinion is wrong.

My Dad is a gruff, groucy, unforgivably unnerving, yet sweetly endeering, busy man. He's a courtroom Judge, so he is, and always has been, on call and on the go. He knows how to ooze with charm at political functions. While he has money, he is very frugal, so you never know just what kind of birthdy or Christmas gift you'll get, and if it really works. He also rides a motor cycle, which drives my Mother craaazy, (which he loves to do). My Dad and I get along well, when we have the time to talk.

My little brother is a fun, curious little boy I get to introduce to the wonders of books, Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Harry Potter, (he's still a bit young for Sherlock). There is a big age gap between us, but he is so clever, and so much fun to see the World through his eyes.

How do you interact with people you don't know?: I make friends easily. I can strike up random conversations with people in the grocery eisle. I'm not nieve though. I catalog people's actions and reactions, and make sure to steer clear of people that my gut tells me could be trouble.
Do you tend to respond to situations in a more logical or emotionally based way?: It really depends othe situation. In a crisis, I am known to keep a level head, think clearly and quickly, and to keep moving and going. However in an emotionally charged situation, I feel like my heart and my gut might rule over my brain.

How far would you be willing to go for the greater good?: Sometimes sacrifies have to be made, and sometimes you yourself have to pay a high price. However, it's more about the weight and balance of the cost and who will be hurt, than the "greater good" outcome.
If the power were in my hands, I would rather pay a price myself, than to make others pay for the "greater good". You also have to think if the greater good is worth the price needing to be paid. In short. Think. Balance. Decide if it's worth it. If it is, then take as much responsibility s you can. If not, then, well, don't do it, and try to keep others from doing it.

Sherlock
Favourite character: That's hard, because I love John and Sherlock, and even Mycroft. Lestrade is also wonderful, and often makes me giggle, as well as Mrs.Hudson.

Which character do you feel you are most like?: I feel like a strange cross between Sherlock and John, with a tiny bit of Mrs.Hudson thrown in there. I am loyal, calm, empathetic, and a writer. I am also a person with an overactive brain, notices everything, plays the violin, and have been called a "freak" and other things like that many times in my life. Oh, an I like purple, make a good cup of tea, and often find myself cleaning up other people's messes. =D

Which character do you feel you are least like?: Donovan or Anderson. It's not like they are not good characters, because they are, and also needed in the plot. We also realy don't get to see them aside from being in the office, or at a crime scene, so we really don't know if Sally has a thing for Pop music, or if Anderson hs a beloved puppy named Andy at home.

However, to me, both seem quite closed-minded, and often look over clues and leads because of their prejudice for Sherlock. Sherlock may be hard to get along with, or understand, but he is also human, and not an alien, or a strange looking insect that you fear could be poisonous. I find myself just talking to the screen, saying, "Come on! Swallow your pride and just listen! You know the man will have the answers. Stop being jealous and/or scared, and solve this case!"

Anything else?: This has been pleasant and fun. =D
