Sexually frustrated
I hate writing sex scenes. I don't know how all you smut writers do it... how do you keep them all from sounding exactly the same? I've written like, maybe 5 ever, and I'm out of ideas. And then fic progress just comes to a grinding halt. Seriously, it's been two weeks since I finished the chapter before the sex, and I'm still dragging my feet on finishing up the next one because I. Hate. Sex. (Writing it, that is.)
(And yes, this does mean that there's Spuffy sex coming up in "Closure," but don't get excited. It's still a few chapters away.)
The simple solution might be to not include it at all, but given the subject matter, intimacy is a pretty big deal for Buffy, so it's something that needs to be addressed. And I'd do a fade to black, except I suck at those even more than I suck at the sex (writing it, that is). Besides, a fade to black doesn't really serve the emotional situation, since the whole point of the sex is to see how Buffy reacts during it, how she pushes through the trauma to create a good experience and how Spike helps with that.
Anyway, that's my whiny complainy rant for the day. If anyone would like to cheer me up, I've been wanting a banner for "Closure." I don't have anything in particular in mind, but if anyone would like to take a crack at it, I'd be most appreciative.
I'm also thinking about changing my LJ banner, just to shake things up, but I don't have any ideas as to what. Also, it's kind of a pain to change the colors of my layout, now that I've got them all matching so nicely.
