Spike's injuries are allowing Buffy to show a level of warmth and caring she's been trying to keep under wraps. It's helping those irksome warm feelings take form and Dawn isn't helping one bit. Buffy's light touches and desire to just hold Spike when she was tending his injuries was lovely.
