Ah, that one is part of my alt S6, the one where Spike goes undercover to help Angel take down Darla. I think I may have posted a snippet from this for another meme, so here's a different one. Just dialogue, though:

Darla: Last I heard, you'd given up killing and were busy making doe-eyes at the Slayer.
Spike: I didn't give up killing. I had a bloody government chip in my head! And the only reason I made nice with the Slayer was so she wouldn't kill me when I couldn't fight back

I would love to write more of this! The reason it never went anywhere, though, is because there's an intermediate story between "Slay Bells" and this one that I never managed to make work. Without that transitional story, I thought it was too much to ask readers to accept that Angel would be okay with Buffy and Spike dating, and that he trusts Spike enough to team up with him, given that the last time they saw each other, Spike was having him tortured.

Nifty! I always enjoy seeing Darla and Spike together. Although, I'm sorry to know it's all a set-up. Seems to me some quality time together might (not to say would, but might) do them both a world of good. Although possibly the more so in S5 than S6.

I'm a fan of Darla and Spike together, too. For some reason, that seems to happen rarely in fic.
