Woo!

"Victory is mine! Victory is mine! Great day in the morning, people, victory is mine."

Took a little trip to PetSmart today, and although I was massively sidetracked by the kittens (OMG they're so cute I want ALL OF THEM), I managed to get out of the store with no additional pets. They didn't have the pill shooter thing, so I got Pill Pockets instead, the little sneaky-treat thingy louise39 recommended.

And we have success! Chelsea took her pill today! But I could tell by the look on her face, she knew she'd been snookered, so we'll have to see if she falls for it again tomorrow.

On a totally unrelated note, I also got my hair cut today. I HATE finding a new person to cut my hair. I've had two really good hairdressers in my life and lost both of them because I moved, and suffered countless bad hair days in between. The last girl I went to worked at a Hair Cuttery, so when I spotted the Hair Cuttery in the same shopping center as the PetSmart, I thought, "Providence!"

God, it was awful. First of all, the woman who cut my hair had a very thick accent, and I could only understand about every third word. I kind of took it on faith that she understood me, otherwise there was no hope of getting her to cut it the way I wanted it. The hair cut actually turned out really cute, except she abandoned me to work on some other client, leaving me to sit around for 15 minutes - twice, she did some sort of "texturing" thing that involved yanking scissors through my hair (painfully), my eyebrow wax hurt way more than anyone else who's done it, and she tried to send me off without drying my hair, even though I specifically said that's what I wanted when I walked in (having been to Hair Cuttery several dozen times in my life, I know they charge extra for blowdrying, and so I make sure not to just say "hair cut"). I guess she thought "drowned rat" suited me as a hairstyle.

And then, to top it all off, I stopped in the grocery store, also in the same shopping center, only to come out and find it pouring rain, despite the fact that the sun was still shining. Much like Eeyore, this shopping center seemed to have its own personal rain cloud hovering over it, as the rain stopped as soon as I got out of the parking lot.

I think that's a sign I should find a new shopping center.

how cute is my kitty, woe is me
