I went to the Van Gogh art exhibit today and it was both exciting and somewhat disappointing.

Van Gogh puppet looks decidedly grouchy. Yet the book next to him is called "lust for life". Frankly I didn't think Van Gogh had much of a lust for life.

It's not a puppet, it's a dollie with a removable ear from my friend. C: Apparently, he hooked up with numerous people so I guess that's where the lust came from.

Oh, I'd heard of that doll. I guess the removable ear is why he looks so grouchy. Haha, I'll believe that yeah. He was otherwise often depressed, afaik.

Ooh, nice. I love seeing Van Gogh's art in real life (as if I've seen his paintings more than once) because you can see how he caked paint onto the canvas. It's got so much fantastic texture that doesn't show up in prints. /artnerd

I almost died of art nerdy joy inside but the crowd ticked me off too badly.

urch, I always have that problem. I straight-up cried when we visited Oscar Wilde's grave because the other tourists were so horrible and bullshitty. People suck Misanthropy for life!
