What's Next

It's funny. My conversations with people lately are quite reminiscent of my conversations with people just before I graduated college:

Them: So when are you done with school?
Me: Hopefully this summer
Them: So I'm sure you get this a lot, but what are you doing after graduation?
Me: Ha. Hahaha. I'm sure this is a pretty cliche answer, but I really don't know.
Them: Oh.
Me: Yeah, I'm working on it though.
Them: Well Keep us all posted.

Blahh, it's soooo frustrating. I'm calling it "the black hole" syndrome. As in, there's a big, huge, gigantic black hole lingering in my life come June.

BUT
I have options.
The following is for those of you who would like to ask me the infamous "what's next" question.

OPTION 1: I move up to Maine, get a job working in Starbucks while living on Peaks. Starbucks provides health insurance to its employees. One of my professors told me that. Right after he told me he "could see me working in a coffee shop for a few years." Thanks Dr. K.

OPTION 2: I could move back home. Work for next to nothing for AmeriCorps again. This is a last resort.

OPTION 3: I could move to Washington and find a job there teaching Bible in a private Christian school or something. I've always wanted to live in Washington. But from what I can tell there aren't too many options for work there.

OPTION 4: This is my best option yet. I have two possible opportunities to work as a Youth Pastor, one in Fitchburg, MA (which I haven't applied for yet, or even enquired about, but a friend of mine told me about the position and thinks I should think about it) OR (as a subset of option 4) I now have an informal interview after Easter for a position as a Youth Pastor in a Christian Prep School (with Focus Ministries) somewhere in New England. Not sure where yet. I'll be sending them my resume this weekend.

OPTION 5: I could go back to Belize and work there full time. This requires money, as they can't pay me. So I could either find a Church to fund me full time for 2 years, or work for a while and save up, then go back. I'm thinking about the latter. We'll see.

There's probably more than I'm forgetting. But yeah, I have a lot to think/pray about over the next few weeks. I'm excited about the prospect of working with Focus, but I'm not getting my hopes up for that. I might be either overqualified for the position or I don't have enough experience working with youth. But at least I got the interview, and we'll go from there.

Life continues to be busy.

Blah.

I'm off to buy tofu for dinner tonight.
