Political Rant and school stuff

I am a lot less frustrated with he school administration as I was a week ago. I checked my mailbox the other day and found not one, not two, not three, but ALL 5 of my course waiver requests were granted. Meaning I am now 100% on track for finishing my coursework by June/July.
So now I need to work on resume stuff. Hopefully I'll have a job lined up before the summer.

I've been working all week on my exegesis paper, which is 1/6th completed. All the research is done, now I'm writing it. My thesis as I've developed it thus far is that the vine imagery used in John 15:1-7 has its roots in the Old Testament imagery of Israel as the failed vine, with particular attention to Isaiah 5:1-7.
If it sounds complicated, that's because it is. Relatively. But it's fun. Once you get through the technical jargon it's a lot of fun to work out the details of the text. I just hope my professor likes my argument, because this paper is 65% of my grade.

I don't understand what all the hype is about Ron Paul. People here love him. I'm pretty much against voting for anyone who won't push for legislation on gun control. I don't care if he's Christian or not, I think that the whole "constitutional right to bear arms" is completely inapplicable to contemporary society. Bearing arms was something the militia did during the Revolutionary War when protecting your property against, say, the British was a way of life.
But when people feel they need to protect themselves against their neighbors, I think it's a sad state of affairs.
Really. I've been thinking about this, and what we need is to start selling rubber bullets. If people really feel they need to protect themselves, then they can do so without killing anyone.

Sorry. I'm ranting. I'm not arguing for pacifism here, but I think that eliminating guns from public market will solve a lot of issues. I really don't believe that the average citizen needs, or should need, to own a gun.

I felt like making a statement. I'm still trying to decide who to vote for.
Anyways, happy (almost) Turkey day.
