Last Friday was the St. Agnes prom.
Camella, Christina, Morgan, Joey, James, and I all met at the Yen household for some pre-dance-floor-tearing-up pictures. Then it was on to P.F. Changs, Wang's, and Amerigo's. Camella's super awesome parents got us a table despite a 30 minute wait. Dinner was excellent and the company was even better. When we asked for the checks, we were informed that Mr. and Mrs. Costa had already taken care of our tabs. Wow! How cool is that? I think I will write them a note. :)
Then it was on to the dance. Morgan suggested that I observe the architecture in midtown, which I enjoyed. After some conversation, we arrived at the University Club where we proceeded to get freak nasty. Well... not exactly, but it was fun! As soon as I got out there, the lead singer pulled me out on stage and had me do a Wacko Jacko impression. I moonwalked, just not as well as usual thanks to those grippy tux shoes. I promise I will redeem myself in the near future. CBHS theatre people started showing up around around 10, but Katie and Charlie were not among them. So, about 20 minutes later we called them and learned that they were somewhere on the interstate. They got to the dance a little late, but not to late to have fun. Katie looked awesome! We danced until the band started putting stuff up. Then Glazer's jacket was coatnapped along with his cell phone and keys. The kid that picked them up was a real @%~*. (I'm sorry, but when you're a sophomore in college and you're dating a kid in high school, there's something wrong.) After a heated exchange of words, the loser was persuaded to bring the stolen items back to the club. The most telling thing about his character was when he sent his date to the door with the jacket. People like that shouldn't be allowed to breathe. We would all be better off without them.
After the dance we all went over to Mave's house. I think the fried chicken was the most popular item on the menu, because it was all gone before I could get my mitts on a piece. Then we all sat around and had some fun. Lauren braided my hair. That was odd. <(^o^<) Then I did the helium baloon thing. It'd been a while since I had done that. Helium makes my head feel funny. Does it yours? Then I tried to sing like Kermit, but I think the aforementioned activity corrupted my vocal cords. We said our farewells and thank yous and went home exhausted, or at least I did.
On my way back home, I was sitting at the Kirby/Poplar pike intersection waiting for the light to turn green and a white jeep laredo pulled up and honked. Four random young women rolled down their windows and asked me how I was, if I'd had fun, and whether or not I was alone. That was odd, never happened to me before. I guess it was the tux. The light turned green, and our paths diverged.
I got home and crashed.
Saturday:
I slept a lot. Then I spent a good chunk of my day playing Morrowind on my modchipped Xbox. (Sorry, I'm a nerd and I need to brag about my box once in a blue moon.)
Sunday:
I cut the lawn and redid our wireless network. Linksys owns the Micro$oft router. :)
Monday:
Two thumbs down for school. Yours truly made a 20 out of 40 on Mr. Wong's uber-tricky cylindrical shell method / that other method for finding volumes of rotated integrals. I would have been disappointed with myself, but I had other tests that day and I did no homework or studying for those sections. High school no longer matters to me. I want to make the most of my last 5 days. In studyhall I theorized that if a desk's center of gravity is balanced precisely over its front two legs, it will remain standing on those two legs indefinitely. This theory was repeatedly tested and proven with about 80% of the free desks. In Mr. Baker's class, I demonstrated this by balancing a row of six desks. When Mr. Baker told me to put them back, I dominoed them. hehehe. And so my life is complete. I have nothing else to prove in school. Yay!
I decided to add this, because I thought it was funny.
