Shpadoinkle!

KRYTEN: Quite extraordinary. Lanstrom postulated that there are two kinds of virus. Positive and negative. The negative we already know about.
LISTER: Yeah, like the flu, rabies, that kind of stuff.
KRYTEN: But she also believed that there are positive viral strains which actually make human beings feel better.
CAT: Such as?
KRYTEN: Well, at a very basic level she predicted a kind of ‘reverse flu’ - a strain of virus which promotes an unaccountable feeling of well-being and happiness.
LISTER: That's happened to me! Me life's been turned to complete and utter crud, and I've woken up in the morning feeling good for no apparent reason!

I woke up this morning feeling, you know...okay. But in the last hour, I've been, well...fuckin' bouncy!
I mean, get this: I'm young; I'm neither ugly, disfigured, nor plain; I'm in reasonably decent shape; I'm artistic; I'm in love; I'm not homeless; I've worked on multiple published works and got myself into IMDB; the sun is shining; my candidate seems to be winning the presidency; life is good.
Oh, sure, the economy is going down the shitter and I'm starting out with no job, and yeah, my Wubby lives something akin to 70 miles away, but fuck that...life is still damn good!

See? This is me doing my happy dance. *strut*

Anyway, I just went to the library and picked up some stuff they were holding for me.
One of them...well, I gave up on Star Trek a long, long time ago. But I realized some months back that it wasn't the premise I hated, just the execution. And ever since I started that Kanira Baxter project of mine (which I'm still working on, I just haven't posted any progress lately), where I'm trying to take that premise and reimagine it to my own personal taste, I've been thinking about giving it another try. So I have season one of TNG sitting here next to me...
If nothing else, I'll get some research done, make a list of what to do and what no to do, what I like and what just plain has to go, that sort of thing. I can get maybe an ep or two in before I go to butt-kicking class.
Wish me luck. But only the good kind, please.

science fiction, love, comic, kanira baxter, politics, just sayin'
