I'm going to put this stuff under a cut for those of you who haven't seen the episode and who haven't read the books.
This episode was so sad. Eric and Godric broke my heart. To see Eric break down and cry and beg Godric not to kill himself was just so emotional. I can't even imagine being alive that long and then having your parent say I'm dying and it's from my own doing. To be separated from that one constant and powerful love is just horrible to think about. Poor, poor Eric. Also, Sookie staying with Godric and comforting him at the end was so beautiful. It was exactly what Godric was striving for, humans and vampires sharing moments together, existing together and caring for one another.
sasha_davidovna just reminded me about how super cute Jessica/Hoyt are. Hoyt doesn't get a lot of storyline in the books so it's nice to see him get some screen time on the show.
A little space for those who haven't read the books and don't want to be spoiled.
Now for some stuff that sort of pertains to the books. I read somewhere before the season started that they were going to combine the second and third book into this season and I thought with Bill's maker coming back (can never remember her name) I figured that was the third book stuff and we weren't going to get Alcide and all the fun that would entail. What I'm wondering is, since Bill sent her on her way and said she was dead to him maybe that's a set up for the third book stuff with her torturing him and trying to kill him. I hope so, I want Alcide and the werewolf situation. Who knows with this show though. Even though it's hard not to compare sometimes I really do love the show and I hope it stays on for a long time (as long as we have lot's of Eric).
