Comic, Spanish, and general hecticness

Well, on Tuesday I had my Spanish test, which went well enough. I feel I'm making progress in Spanish ... without actually doing much. I suppose I go around and speak it randomly to everyone, which might help. Not gonna complain if I get better for free though. =P

Point in case: yesterday (Wednesday) me and Alex went and took the Camebridge Advanced English test, and during the break I speak to him in Spanish. He took the equivalent of three years of Spanish, but he doesn't remember anything; languages aren't his thing. =P (Only reason he's good at English is ... well ... the internet. He uses it. Same way I do)

Alex: So! Lunch break!
Me: And it's about time, too! Tengo hambre como no sé como qué!
Alex: Um, yeah, English test much?
Me: Sí, y así? No está durante la prueba ahora, sí?
Alex: *not understanding* Maybe you shouldn't speak random languages then?
Me: Pues, quizás es así, pero si quiera yo hablar español voy a hablar español. Creo que voy a escribir la parte de escribo de la prueba en español también. Veo qué harán.

*makes stuff up because she doesn't remember the conversation exactly*

Alex: *now magically understanding because of her magical editing powers!* Haha, yeahhhhh, and you wrote down what was your first language again? Swedish? I guess you got the first letter right, but not the rest!
Me: Multilingual for the win! ^^

Yeah, I should start writing my journal in Spanish again. Puedo hablar bastante bien esos dias, even not just writing, but speaking. I am on my way to becoming semi-fluent! Another funny thing: On the test it said, "how many years have you been studying English?", and the choices were "1" through "6 or more".

Me: Um, yeah, how many years have we been taking English? Second grade, right?
Alex: Heh, yeah, more than six years anyway.
Me: *counts on fingers* I do believe it is almost eleven.

In fact, I have been theoretically been studying Spanish for more than six years... =P Slow progress ... to my defense, we only have class hours a week, and the first four years we were still in compulsory school and therefore learned at half-speed (and my teacher wasn't very good anyway). So yeah. Theoretically Spanish level 5 is equivalent to English A, which we took in the first year of gymnasiet ... and that may be true, especially for classes that, unlike my own, don't have lectures in English... =P So I should be better at Spanish than Sara is at English ... which I might be. I never hear her speak. She understands fairly well it seems, as she often replies (but in Swedish), but then, I understand when my teacher speaks in Spanish, and he claims to not be cutting down on speed or vocabulary and says for us to interrupt if we don't understand, so, maybe I am as good at Spanish as Sara is at English. Anyway. Enough about Spanish. Three languages isn't really much of a feat anyway. It's not much to brag about until you know five or so. So I gotta hurry up and learn two more! (I think the first shall be German ... but after that I don't know. Latin? Always wanted to learn Latin, is sort of cool, since everything is based on it ... )

As I said, Spanish test on Tuesday, Camebridge Advanced English test on Wednesday, and National Math D test today (which went reasonably well, considering I haven't really ... done much of any work at ALL with math this semester o.O;). And that's the last tests of the semester! I still need to write a draft of my religion paper up for Monday so I can take it in and have my teacher look at it, but eh. And I need to finish my application and my personal statement ... *dies*

Oh, and that's right: buy Christmas presents. o.O; I don't want them to be late, but I don't know what to even get for Brian and his parents! And I should get something little for Lena as well (or at the very least draw her some pictures). Oh well ... I suppose I'll survive Christmas. And then tackle spring semester ... but that will be easier. Spring semester always is. =P

And, because I'm happy to be drawing:
