English teacher huh? Why do I still have to go to that class? T_T

Ok, so. Today was my actual first day in school, as the last week was just getting to know my new teachers and do the "social development" thing. *shifty eyes* I had my first english class with my new english teacher.

It sucked. BAD. She insisted on talking in english, which was more than fine with me. Finally, I thought. Well... her english wasn't even that good. She spoke too slow--although I can understand that, as the rest of my class was dead-silent to try to catch what she said--and she sorta stumbled on the syllables, a bit like dad does--and she just went ON and ON and ON about totally irrelevant things. She didn't know what she was talking about. She was to tell us what the base-book's first chapter was gonna be about, and she opened the book and read the titles. T_T She then turned page and told us that the sun shone like rays through the trees on that picture, and said stuff like: "Ooh, a rain forest, I think! Does it not look like a rain forest to you? It does to me, with a lot of things that grow..."

Me: AUGH!

I tried to look attentive and stuff, but after a while I started asking her questions--in english, of course--about how the tests were gonna be, what we were gonna do, when we would be starting, and I was just boiling with impatience. She had this really nagging voice, and I'd already drawn all over my eraser, and I hadn't gotten any notebook yet to write in--and even after I did get my notebook, that really nagging, sharp voice kept grating on my mind so I couldn't write anything anyway. I think I managed to annoy her the first I did by asking if we had to stick entirely to the base-book or if we could like write and stuff, and whether we could start doing things now or not.

Overall I didn't speak that much though, so when after class she asked me whether I had lived in the US, because she was wondering over my good english, I was a little surprised. To her, having a british accent (although it's rough) I clearly sounded american. *sticks out tongue at Karl and Lena and everyone who has accused her of sounding british* This just proves what I knew all along, that I have a mixed accent, because I'm fitting it together from Lena and TV and random places.

Anyway, I hate those base-books. It's the same kind as every year (I'm starting to suspect it's the same book every year, except with a new cover T_T) and it's utterly boring. It's all your fault Lena! Before I met you my teachers were at least better than me! *sulks over english classes that are gonna be boring as hell because of the stupid base-book and all the things in it she has to do even though she already knows them*

Anyway, my english teacher, Mona, is the oldest teacher in the school, as of 62 years of age. We change teachers pretty often in a bunch of subjects--but at least we still have the same Swedish teacher as last year. I like her. She's good. Anyway, we change teachers often, and end up with the young, inexperienced teachers. Personally, I sorta like this--because Mona's way to teach stuff, even after only having heard one class, sounds hardly pedagogic and flexible. One of our other new teachers, whatever her name is again, we're having her in social studies, is 24, I think. =P Maybe she will show to be a better teacher. Or maybe she'll suck too, just to mock me. ^_^

And that was a lot of complaining, so as a counter-weight, I will applaud my sister for her excellent baking! *ate brownies both yesterday and today, and they were just wonderful* Of course, I would say that over any not utterly failed baking that included much chocolate, but still. =P
